3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Battery Installation and Charging

  1. Unscrew the tail cap of the light unit.
  2. Insert the SL-B26 USB rechargeable battery with the positive (+) end facing towards the head of the light.
  3. Screw the tail cap back on securely.
  4. To charge the SL-B26 battery, connect the included USB cord to the battery's USB port and a compatible USB power source. The indicator light on the battery will show charging status.
  5. Alternatively, two CR123A lithium batteries can be used. Ensure correct polarity when inserting.

3.2 Mounting the Light

The ProTac Rail Mount HL-X Pro is designed for easy attachment to MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rails and M-LOK compatible rail systems.

  1. Identify the desired mounting location on your rail system.
  2. For Picatinny rails, use the integrated rail clamps. Loosen the thumbscrew, position the light on the rail, and tighten the thumbscrew firmly by hand.
  3. For M-LOK systems, attach the M-Lok kit to the light unit using the provided hardware. Then, align the M-Lok attachment points with the M-Lok slots on your rail and secure using the M-Lok fasteners and the 25mm Allen wrench.
  4. If using the remote pressure switch, attach it to the Jack-Cap tail switch port and secure the pressure pad to your desired location on the firearm using the provided mounting accessories.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Jack-Cap Tail Switch Operation

The Jack-Cap tail switch provides versatile control:

  • Momentary On: Press and hold the push-button on the tail cap. Release to turn off.
  • Constant On: Press the push-button fully until it clicks. Press again to turn off.
  • Remote Pressure Switch: When connected, the remote pressure switch provides momentary activation. Press and hold the pressure pad for momentary on. Some models may offer a constant on button on the pressure switch assembly.

The TEN-TAP programming allows you to select one of three user-selectable programs:

  1. High/Strobe/Low (Factory Default): Tap (momentary press) the switch rapidly 10 times, holding it down on the 10th tap. The light will turn off. Continue holding until the light flashes. Release the switch.
  2. High Only: Repeat the 10-tap process. The light will flash twice. Release the switch.
  3. Low/High: Repeat the 10-tap process. The light will flash three times. Release the switch.

To cycle through the programs, repeat the 10-tap process. The light will indicate the current program by flashing 1, 2, or 3 times.
