Product Overview
The SWS 9300 system consists of a main display unit (base station) and a multi-functional outdoor sensor.
Base Station
The base station features a 5.4-inch LCD display that shows all collected weather data, time, date, and alarm settings. It is designed for indoor use.

Setup
1. Battery Installation
Both the base station and the outdoor sensor require 3 x 1.5V AA batteries (not included).
- Base Station: Open the battery compartment on the back of the base station. Insert 3 AA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment.
- Outdoor Sensor: Open the battery compartment on the outdoor sensor. Insert 3 AA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment securely to ensure weather resistance.
2. Outdoor Sensor Mounting and Placement
Proper placement of the outdoor sensor is crucial for accurate readings.
- Mount the sensor in an open area, away from obstructions like buildings, trees, or fences that could block wind or rain.
- Ensure the rain collector is level for accurate rainfall measurement.
- The wind vane should be able to rotate freely.
- The sensor can transmit data up to 150 meters in open space to the base station. Consider this range when choosing a location.
- Use the provided mounting hardware to secure the sensor firmly.

3. Initial Power-On and Sensor Pairing
After installing batteries in both units, the base station will automatically search for the outdoor sensor. This pairing process may take a few minutes. Ensure both units are within range during initial setup.
Operating Instructions
Display Layout Explanation
The 5.4-inch LCD display is divided into several sections, showing various data points:
- OUT (Outdoor): Displays outdoor temperature and humidity, signal strength from the outdoor sensor.
- IN (Indoor): Displays indoor temperature and humidity.
- WIND: Shows wind speed (current and gust) and wind direction.
- FORECAST: Weather forecast icons (sunny, cloudy, rainy, etc.).
- BARO (Barometer): Displays atmospheric pressure and historical pressure trends.
- TIME/DATE: Current time, date, and moon phase.
Setting Time and Date
Refer to the specific buttons on your base station (usually labeled 'MODE', 'SET', or similar) to enter time/date setting mode. Adjust values using '+' or '-' buttons and confirm with 'SET'.
Alarm Function
The base station includes a digital alarm clock with a pre-alarm function for low temperatures. This feature can alert you if the outdoor temperature drops below a set threshold before your main alarm time.
- Setting Alarm: Press the 'ALARM' or 'MODE' button repeatedly until the alarm time is displayed. Use 'SET' and adjustment buttons to set the desired alarm time.
- Activating Pre-Alarm: Consult the manual for specific steps to enable and configure the low-temperature pre-alarm. This typically involves setting a temperature threshold.
Weather Forecast Interpretation
The weather station provides a 12/24-hour weather forecast based on changes in atmospheric pressure. The forecast is indicated by graphical icons on the display.
Viewing Indoor/Outdoor Temperature and Humidity
The display continuously shows current indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity readings. The digital thermometer and hygrometer ensure high precision.
Wind Speed and Direction, Rain Measurement
The outdoor sensor accurately measures wind speed (current and gust), wind direction, and accumulated rainfall. This data is transmitted to the base station for display.
Barometric Pressure Reading
The integrated barometer detects variations in atmospheric pressure, providing valuable information on weather trends. The display shows current pressure and a historical graph.
Unit Selection
You can typically switch between different units of measurement (e.g., Celsius/Fahrenheit for temperature, mph/km/h for wind speed, hPa/inHg for pressure) through the settings menu on the base station.
Moon Phase Display
The base station also displays the current moon phase, providing additional astronomical information.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Units
- Wipe the base station and outdoor sensor with a soft, damp cloth.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Regularly check the outdoor sensor for debris (leaves, insects) that might obstruct the rain collector or wind sensors.
Battery Replacement
Replace batteries in both units when the low battery indicator appears on the base station display. Always replace all batteries in a unit at the same time with new ones of the same type.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No outdoor data displayed | Outdoor sensor not paired or out of range; low batteries in sensor. | Ensure sensor is within 150m of base station. Replace sensor batteries. Re-pair sensor if necessary (refer to manual for pairing steps). |
| Inaccurate temperature/humidity | Sensor exposed to direct sunlight or heat source; obstructed airflow. | Relocate sensor to a shaded area with good airflow. Ensure base station is not near heat/cold sources. |
| Inaccurate wind/rain data | Obstructions to wind vane/anemometer; rain collector blocked. | Clear any debris from wind sensors and rain collector. Ensure sensor is mounted level and unobstructed. |
| Display is blank or dim | Low batteries in base station. | Replace base station batteries. |
