Setup
1. Charging the Battery
The PNI Hunting TL700 is equipped with a built-in 3.7V 750 mAh Li-Ion rechargeable battery. Before first use, fully charge the device.
- Connect the supplied USB Type-C cable to the charging port on the rangefinder.
- Connect the other end of the USB cable to a compatible USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, wall adapter).
- The charging indicator will show the charging status. Once fully charged, the indicator will change (refer to device display for specific indication).
2. Attaching the Lanyard
Attach the lanyard to the designated loop on the rangefinder to prevent accidental drops during use.
Operating Instructions
1. Powering On/Off
- To power on: Press the power button once. The display will activate.
- To power off: The device will automatically power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery. Alternatively, press and hold the power button for a few seconds to manually turn it off.
2. Diopter Adjustment
Rotate the eyepiece to adjust the diopter until the display and target appear clear and sharp for your vision.
3. Measuring Distance (Single Measurement)
- Aim the rangefinder at the desired target.
- Press the measurement button once. The distance to the target will be displayed on the screen.
4. Continuous Measurement (Scan Mode)
This mode is useful for scanning multiple targets or a moving target to get continuous distance updates.
- Press and hold the measurement button.
- Pan the rangefinder across different targets or track a moving object.
- The measured distances will be continuously displayed on the screen until the button is released.
5. Speed Measurement
The PNI Hunting TL700 can measure the speed of moving objects.
- Select the speed measurement mode (refer to the device's on-screen menu for mode selection).
- Aim the reticle at the center of the screen towards the moving object.
- Move the rangefinder slightly while tracking the object.
- The object's speed will be displayed on the screen in km/h.
6. Unit Selection
You can switch between yards and meters for distance measurement.
- Refer to the device's menu or specific button (often a 'Mode' button) to toggle between 'Y' (yards) and 'M' (meters).
Maintenance

- Inaccurate measurements: Ensure the target is within the measurement range (up to 1200 yards/1100 meters). Check for obstructions between the rangefinder and the target. Ensure lenses are clean.
- Display is blurry: Adjust the diopter by rotating the eyepiece until the display is clear.
- No speed measurement: Ensure you are in the correct speed measurement mode and are tracking the moving object smoothly.
