Assembly Instructions
Before You Begin:
- Clear a spacious area for assembly.
- Lay out all components and hardware. Refer to the parts list to identify each piece.
- Have a Phillips head screwdriver and a hammer (if needed for dowels) ready.
- It is recommended to have two people for assembly.
Step-by-Step Assembly:
- Attach Casters: Secure the five casters to the bottom panel using the provided screws. Ensure the two casters with brakes are positioned at the front for easy access.
- Assemble Base Frame: Connect the side panels, back panel, and bottom panel using cam locks, dowels, and screws as indicated in the diagrams.
- Install Drawer Slides: Attach the drawer slides to the interior side panels of the main frame.
- Assemble Drawer: Construct the drawer by connecting the front, back, and side pieces, then slide the bottom panel into place. Attach the remaining drawer slide components to the drawer.
- Insert Drawer: Carefully slide the assembled drawer into the installed drawer slides on the main frame.
- Attach Top Panel: Place the rubberwood top panel onto the assembled frame and secure it with screws from underneath.
- Install Cabinet Hinges and Doors: Attach hinges to the cabinet doors and then to the main frame. Adjust hinges as needed for proper door alignment.
- Install Handles: Attach the handles to the drawer front and cabinet doors.
- Assemble Spice Rack and Towel Rack: Secure the spice rack and towel rack to the designated side panel of the kitchen island.
- Insert Adjustable Shelves: Place the shelf pins into the desired holes inside the cabinets and rest the adjustable shelves on them.
- Final Check: Verify all connections are tight and the unit is stable.
Operating Instructions
- Moving the Cart: To move the kitchen island, unlock the two braking casters by flipping their levers upwards. Gently push the cart to its desired location.
- Securing the Cart: Once in position, engage the brakes on the two casters by flipping their levers downwards to prevent unintended movement.
- Using the Drawer: Pull the drawer handle to open and push to close. Avoid overloading the drawer to ensure smooth operation.
- Adjusting Shelves: To adjust the height of the inner shelves, remove any items, lift the shelf, remove the shelf pins, reposition them to the desired height, and then replace the shelf.
- Using Spice and Towel Racks: Utilize the side racks for convenient storage of spices, oils, and kitchen towels.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that may damage the finish or rubberwood top.
- Rubberwood Top Care: For the rubberwood surface, regular cleaning with a mild soap and water solution is sufficient. For enhanced durability and appearance, occasional treatment with food-grade mineral oil is recommended, especially if the wood appears dry.
