Setup
1. Connecting the Base Unit
- Connect one end of the telephone line cord to the TEL LINE jack on the back of the base unit.
- Connect the other end of the telephone line cord to a telephone wall jack.
- Plug one AC power adapter into the DC IN 6V jack on the back of the base unit.
- Plug the other end of the AC power adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
2. Installing the Handset Battery
- Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the cordless handset.
- Connect the rechargeable battery pack connector to the jack inside the compartment, ensuring correct polarity.
- Place the battery pack inside the compartment and close the cover.
3. Initial Handset Charging
Place the cordless handset in its charging cradle or on the base unit. The handset will begin charging. Allow the handset to charge for at least 12 hours before first use to ensure optimal battery performance.
4. Setting Date and Time
After the initial charge, follow the on-screen prompts on the base unit and handset to set the current date and time. This is crucial for accurate caller ID and answering machine timestamps.
Operating Instructions
Making and Receiving Calls
- To Make a Call: Lift the corded handset or press the TALK button on the cordless handset. Dial the desired number.
- To Receive a Call: Lift the corded handset or press the TALK button on the cordless handset when the phone rings.
- Speakerphone: Press the SPEAKER button on either unit to activate the speakerphone function for hands-free conversation.
Digital Answering Machine
- Recording Outgoing Message (OGM): Access the answering machine menu on the base unit to record your personalized outgoing message.
- Playing Messages: Press the PLAY/STOP button on the base unit to listen to new or saved messages.
- Deleting Messages: While a message is playing, press the DELETE button on the base unit.
Caller ID
The phone displays the caller's name and number (if available from your service provider) on both the corded base unit and cordless handset screens. You can review past calls by navigating the Caller ID log using the arrow keys.
Phonebook/Directory
Store frequently called numbers in the phone's directory for quick dialing. Refer to the on-screen menu for adding, editing, and deleting entries.
System Expandability
This system is expandable up to 5 cordless handsets. To register additional handsets, follow the instructions provided with the new handset and the base unit's menu options for handset registration.
