Setup

Battery Installation

The AOFAR HX-1000I uses a CR2, 3V battery. To install, locate the battery compartment cap on the side of the device. Unscrew the cap counter-clockwise. Insert the CR2 battery with the positive (+) end facing outwards, then securely screw the cap back on clockwise until snug. This ensures proper power supply and water resistance.

Eyepiece Adjustment

To achieve a clear view through the eyepiece, rotate the diopter adjustment ring located near the eyepiece until the display and target appear sharp and in focus. This adjustment compensates for individual eyesight differences.

Operating Modes

The HX-1000I offers multiple modes to suit various measurement needs. Use the 'MODE' button to cycle through the available functions.

Range Mode

For simple and accurate distance measurement, press and hold the 'POWER' button. The device will quickly provide the distance to your target in yards or meters. This mode is ideal for stationary targets.

Scan Mode

Continuous scanning allows you to measure distances to multiple targets in a short period. Activate scan mode and sweep the rangefinder across the area to get real-time distance updates. This is particularly useful for tracking moving game or surveying an area quickly.

Speed Mode

To measure the speed of a moving target, aim at the object and press the 'POWER' button. The device will display the target's speed in meters per second (m/s). This mode is effective for instantly capturing the speed of moving objects.

Angle and Horizontal Distance

Ideal for archery and hunting, this mode provides both the angle of inclination/declination and the true horizontal distance to the target, ensuring precise shot placement, especially when shooting uphill or downhill.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Regularly clean the lenses with the provided soft cleaning cloth. Do not use abrasive materials or harsh chemicals. Gently wipe the surface to remove dust and smudges.
• Storage: Store the device in its carrying pouch when not in use to protect it from dust, moisture, and physical damage. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
• Battery Care: If the device will not be used for an extended period, remove the CR2 battery to prevent leakage and potential damage to the unit.

Troubleshooting

• LCD not turning on: Check if the battery is installed correctly and has sufficient power. Replace the CR2 battery if necessary. Ensure no obstructions are blocking the lens.

• Battery power runs out quickly: This may occur if the device is left on for extended periods or if the battery is old. Replace with a new CR2 battery.
