1. Introduction

The VOCOlinc Air Tracker Tag is a smart item locator designed to help you find your belongings using the Apple Find My app. This device is MFi certified, ensuring seamless integration with the Apple ecosystem. It is suitable for tracking items such as luggage, keys, wallets, and bags.

Key features include a loud built-in speaker for nearby finding, a wide network for far-away tracking, left-behind alerts, and a replaceable battery. This product is compatible only with iOS devices and does not support Android devices or UWB functionality.

2. Getting Started

2.1 Battery Installation

The VOCOlinc Air Tracker Tag comes with a pre-installed CR2032 coin cell battery. When the battery needs replacement, follow these steps:

  1. Gently twist the two halves of the tracker to open the casing.
  2. Remove the old CR2032 battery.
  3. Insert a new CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
  4. Align the two halves and twist them back together until securely closed.

2.2 Pairing with Apple Find My App

The VOCOlinc Air Tracker Tag pairs exclusively with the Apple Find My app. Ensure your iOS device's Bluetooth is enabled.

  1. Turn on your iOS device's Bluetooth and open the 'Find My' app.
  2. In the 'Find My' app, tap on the 'Items' tab at the bottom, then tap 'Add Item'.
  3. Select 'Other Supported Item'.
  4. Press and hold the button on the VOCOlinc Air Tracker Tag for 10 seconds to reset it. The device will emit a sound indicating it is ready for pairing.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions in the 'Find My' app to complete the pairing process.

3. Operation

3.1 Finding Items Nearby

When your VOCOlinc Air Tracker Tag is within Bluetooth range (up to 200 feet without obstacles), you can use the 'Find My' app to locate it.

  • Open the 'Find My' app on your iOS device.
  • Select the VOCOlinc Air Tracker Tag from your list of items.
  • Tap 'Play Sound'. The tracker will emit a loud ringing sound (80-100 decibels) to help you pinpoint its location. You can also ask Siri for assistance.

3.2 Finding Items Far Away

If your item is outside of Bluetooth range, the Apple Find My network can help locate it. This network consists of hundreds of millions of Apple devices globally.

  • Open the 'Find My' app.
  • Select your VOCOlinc Air Tracker Tag.
  • The app will display the tracker's last known location on a map, based on when it was last detected by an Apple device in the Find My network.
  • You can use the navigation feature within the app to guide you to its vicinity.

3.3 Left-Behind Reminders

To prevent losing your belongings, enable left-behind alerts in the 'Find My' app. You will receive an instant notification on your iOS device if you leave your tracker behind.

3.4 Lost Mode

If your VOCOlinc Air Tracker Tag is lost, activate 'Lost Mode' in the 'Find My' app. When your lost tracker is detected by any device in the Apple Find My network, you will automatically receive a notification of its location. You can also add contact information for anyone who finds your item.

3.5 Privacy Protection

The Apple Find My network is designed with privacy in mind. Location data and history are encrypted and anonymous, and are not stored on the VOCOlinc Air Tracker Tag itself. This ensures your privacy is maintained.

4. Care and Maintenance

4.1 Water Resistance

The VOCOlinc Air Tracker Tag features an IP67 water-resistant rating, meaning it can withstand splashes, rain, and brief immersion in water. However, it is not recommended for prolonged submersion or use during water sports.

4.2 Battery Life and Replacement

The included CR2032 battery typically lasts over 1 year. The 'Find My' app will notify you when the battery level is low, indicating it's time for replacement. Refer to Section 2.1 for battery replacement instructions.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Pairing Issues

  • Ensure Bluetooth is On: Verify that Bluetooth is enabled on your iOS device.
  • Reset the Tracker: If pairing fails, press and hold the tracker's button for 10 seconds to reset it, then attempt pairing again.
  • Check Battery: A low battery can interfere with pairing. Replace the CR2032 battery if necessary.
  • iOS Only: Remember, this device is only compatible with iOS devices, not Android.

5.2 Disconnection Issues

  • Range: Ensure the tracker is within Bluetooth range (approx. 200 feet) of your iOS device or another Apple device in the Find My network.
  • Obstacles: Physical obstructions can reduce Bluetooth range.
  • Battery Level: A weak battery can lead to intermittent disconnections. Replace the battery if prompted by the app or if you suspect it's low.
  • Re-add Item: If persistent disconnection occurs, try removing the item from the 'Find My' app and re-pairing it.

5.3 Sound Not Playing

  • Within Range: The 'Play Sound' feature only works when the tracker is within Bluetooth range of your device.
  • Volume: Ensure your iOS device's volume is not muted, although the tracker's sound is independent.
  • Battery: A critically low battery might prevent the speaker from functioning.
