Setup

1. Connecting the Drive (Plug and Play)

The ORIGBELIE TP620 drive is designed for plug-and-play functionality, requiring no additional driver installation for most operating systems.

  1. Locate the built-in 2-in-1 USB 3.0 cable on the back of the CD drive. This cable features both USB-A and USB-C connectors.
  2. Connect the appropriate connector (USB-A or USB-C) to an available USB port on your laptop, desktop PC, Mac, or MacBook.
  3. The drive should be automatically recognized by your operating system. A small RGB LED light on the drive will illuminate, indicating it is powered on and ready for use.

2. Optional External Power Supply

In some cases, especially with older laptops or when performing power-intensive tasks like burning discs, your computer's USB port may not provide sufficient power. If you experience unstable operation, use the included USB A to Mini USB Power Supply Cable.

  1. Connect the Mini USB end of the power supply cable to the Mini USB port on the external drive (this is a charging port, not a data port).
  2. Connect the USB-A end of the power supply cable to a 5V charger or power bank (not included).

Operating Instructions

1. Inserting and Ejecting Discs

  1. To Insert: Press the 'IN/OUT' button on the front of the drive to open the disc tray. Carefully place your CD or DVD onto the tray, ensuring it is centered on the spindle. Gently push the tray back into the drive until it clicks shut.
  2. To Eject: Press the 'IN/OUT' button again. The disc tray will open. Carefully remove the disc and push the tray back in.
  3. Forced Ejection: In case of power failure or if the eject button does not work, locate the small hole next to the eject button. Insert a straightened paperclip into the hole and push gently to manually open the disc tray.

2. Playing CDs and DVDs

Once a disc is inserted and the drive is connected, your operating system should prompt you with options for playing the media. If not, you can manually open the disc through 'My Computer' or 'File Explorer' (Windows) or 'Finder' (Mac).

  • For DVD movies, you may need third-party media player software (e.g., VLC Media Player) if your operating system does not have a built-in DVD player.
  • For audio CDs, most operating systems have default media players that will automatically play the tracks.

3. Burning and Writing Discs

To burn or write data to a blank CD-R/RW or DVD-R/RW, you will need appropriate burning software installed on your computer. The drive supports various disc types for writing:

  • CD-R/RW: Up to 24x write speed
  • DVD-R/RW: Up to 8x write speed

Follow the instructions provided by your chosen burning software to create data discs, audio CDs, or video DVDs.

4. DVD Region Code

DVDs are often region-encoded. The drive's region code must match the disc's region code for playback. You can typically change the drive's region code a limited number of times (usually 4-5 times) through your operating system's device manager settings. Be aware that once the maximum changes are reached, the region code will be permanently set.

    • If playing a DVD, verify the region code matches the drive's setting.
  • Slow Performance:
    • Ensure the drive is connected to a USB 3.0 port for optimal speed.
    • Close other demanding applications running on your computer.
