1. Introduction

This compact 100-key keyboard offers versatile triple-mode connectivity (Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4Ghz wireless, and USB-C wired) to seamlessly switch between up to four devices. Designed for both gaming and productivity, it features durable blue mechanical switches, customizable RGB backlighting, and a long-lasting rechargeable battery. This manual provides detailed instructions to help you get the most out of your new keyboard.

2. Package Contents

3. Setup and Connection

The Rii Mechanical Gaming Keyboard supports three connection modes: Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4Ghz Wireless, and USB-C Wired. It can connect to up to four devices simultaneously, allowing for easy switching.

3.1. Powering On/Off

Locate the power switch on the back or side of the keyboard. Slide it to the 'ON' position to power on the keyboard. Slide it to 'OFF' to power off.

3.2. USB-C Wired Connection

  1. Connect one end of the provided USB-C cable to the keyboard's Type-C port.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB-A cable to an available USB port on your computer.
  3. The keyboard will be automatically recognized and ready for use.

3.3. 2.4Ghz Wireless Connection

  1. Locate the 2.4Ghz USB receiver, usually stored in a compartment on the keyboard.
  2. Plug the 2.4Ghz USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
  3. Turn on the keyboard. It should automatically connect to the receiver.
  4. If connection is not established, press Fn + 4 to activate 2.4Ghz pairing mode. The indicator light will flash until connected.

3.4. Bluetooth 5.0 Connection

The keyboard supports up to three Bluetooth connections (BT1, BT2, BT3).

  1. Turn on the keyboard.
  2. Press and hold Fn + 1 (for BT1), Fn + 2 (for BT2), or Fn + 3 (for BT3) for 3-5 seconds until the corresponding indicator light flashes rapidly. This indicates pairing mode.
  3. On your device (computer, tablet, smartphone), enable Bluetooth and search for new devices.
  4. Select "Rii Keyboard" or similar from the list of available devices.
  5. Once connected, the indicator light on the keyboard will stop flashing and remain solid for a few seconds before turning off.

3.5. Switching Between Devices

Once multiple devices are paired, you can switch between them by simply pressing the corresponding function key:

  • Fn + 1: Switch to Bluetooth Device 1
  • Fn + 2: Switch to Bluetooth Device 2
  • Fn + 3: Switch to Bluetooth Device 3
  • Fn + 4: Switch to 2.4Ghz Wireless Device
  • Fn + 5: Switch to USB-C Wired Device

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Backlight Control

The keyboard features 20 different RGB backlight modes and customizable options.

  • Fn + Ins: Change backlight mode. Press repeatedly to cycle through 20 modes.
  • Fn + Ins (hold for 3 seconds): Turn off backlight.
  • Fn + Home: Customize personalized backlight (refer to advanced settings for details).
  • Fn + Page Up (): Increase backlight brightness.
  • Fn + Page Down (): Reduce backlight brightness.

4.2. Multimedia and Shortcut Keys

4.3. Charging the Keyboard

  • Connect the provided USB-C cable to the keyboard's charging port and the other end to a USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter).
  • The charging indicator light will illuminate during charging and turn off when fully charged.

5. Maintenance

5.1. Cleaning

  • Turn off the keyboard before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution to wipe the keycaps and keyboard surface.
  • For deeper cleaning, use the provided keycap puller to remove keycaps and clean underneath with compressed air or a small brush.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

5.2. Switch Replacement

The Rii Mechanical Gaming Keyboard features hot-swappable switches, allowing for easy replacement or customization.

  1. Turn off the keyboard.
  2. Use the provided keycap puller to gently remove the desired keycap.
  3. Use the provided switch puller to carefully grip the switch from its top and bottom clips and pull it straight up.
  4. Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB and gently push it down until it clicks into place. Ensure the pins are not bent.
  5. Replace the keycap.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your Rii Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, please refer to the following common solutions:

  • Keyboard not responding:
    • Ensure the keyboard is powered on.
    • Check battery level and charge if necessary.
    • Verify the correct connection mode (Bluetooth, 2.4Ghz, or Wired) is selected using Fn + 1/2/3/4/5.
    • For 2.4Ghz, ensure the USB receiver is properly plugged in.
    • For Bluetooth, ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device and the keyboard is paired. Try re-pairing if necessary.
    • Try connecting via USB-C wired mode to rule out wireless issues.
  • Keys not registering or double-typing:
    • Clean under the affected keycap to remove any debris.
    • Consider replacing the switch if cleaning does not resolve the issue.
  • Backlight not working or dim:
    • Ensure the backlight is not turned off (Fn + Ins, hold for 3 seconds).
    • Increase brightness using Fn + Page Up.

  • Bluetooth connection unstable:
    • Ensure the keyboard is within range of your device.
    • Avoid interference from other wireless devices.
    • Try forgetting the device on your computer/phone and re-pairing.
