3.3 Adding Sensors
The kit includes contact sensors for doors/windows and motion sensors for area monitoring. Ensure batteries are active before pairing.
- On the control panel, navigate to 'Add Accessories' and select 'Add a Sensor'.
- Choose the sensor type (Entry for Contact Sensor, Motion for Motion Sensor).
- Select the desired mode (e.g., 'Away/Home' for contact sensors, 'Away' for motion sensors).
- Select 'Pair' and follow the on-screen instructions to trigger the sensor (e.g., separate contact sensor halves, wave hand in front of motion sensor).
- Once paired, go to the Smart Life app, select 'Accessories', and then the specific sensor. Use 'Sub device name' to rename the sensor (e.g., 'Front Door', 'Living Room Motion'). This name will appear in app notifications.

Figure 5: Motion Sensors. Detects motion up to 19 feet away and features pet immunity.
4. System Operation
The OSI Alarm System (Gen 2) offers multiple ways to arm and disarm your security system:
- Control Panel: Use the intuitive touch screen display to select 'Away', 'Home', or 'Disarm' modes.
- Smart Life App: Control your system remotely from anywhere using the mobile application.
- Remote Controllers: Use the included remote fobs for quick arming and disarming.
- Voice Control: The system is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for convenient voice commands.
4.1 Arming Modes
- Away Mode: Activates all sensors (contact, motion) for full perimeter and interior protection. Use when leaving the property.
- Home Mode: Activates perimeter sensors (contact sensors) but bypasses interior motion sensors, allowing free movement inside while maintaining security.
- Disarm Mode: Deactivates all alarm functions.
4.2 SOS Button Feature
For immediate assistance, press the panic button (SOS) conveniently located on the display, app, and remote control. This will quickly sound the siren and notify all shared app users.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Continuous Updates
The system receives regular, complimentary updates to maintain peak performance, security, and introduce new features. Ensure your system is updated when prompted by the app.

Figure 6: System updates ensure optimal performance.
5.2 Backup Battery
The control panel features a 24-hour backup battery to ensure uninterrupted security during power outages. Sensors and remotes have their own batteries with long lifespans (up to 5 years for contact sensors).
6. Troubleshooting
- Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network during initial setup, as the system requires this frequency.
- Notifications: If you are not receiving app notifications, verify that you have allowed Smart Life to send notifications in your phone's settings.
- Sensor Pairing: If a sensor fails to pair, ensure its battery is active and it is within range of the control panel. For motion sensors, ensure you turn off previously added motion sensors before pairing new ones to avoid confusion.
- SMS Alerts: This panel can use a SIM card (not included) to receive SMS alerts directly. A SIM card with an active talk/text plan from a mobile provider is required. This is an optional feature and will involve monthly fees charged by your cell provider.
