1. Introduction

The OSI Alarm System for Home Security (Gen 2) is a comprehensive, self-monitored DIY security solution designed to provide peace of mind without recurring monthly fees. This system features a responsive touch screen control panel, advanced motion detection, reliable contact sensors, a powerful wireless siren, convenient remote controls, and seamless integration with a dedicated phone application. The system is designed for continuous updates to maintain optimal performance and compatibility.

Your OSI Alarm System (Gen 2) package includes the following:

3. System Setup

3.1 Initial Control Panel Setup

  1. Carefully peel off the protective film from the control panel's display screen.
  2. Open the back cover of the control panel and locate the backup battery switch. Turn the backup battery ON to ensure uninterrupted power for up to 24 hours in case of a power failure.

  4. Plug the USB-C power cable into the USB-C port located at the back of the control panel.
  5. Connect the power adapter to a wall outlet. Ensure you use only the specified 5V/2A power supply for this product. Using any other USB power supply may result in potential issues.

  7. Once powered, the welcome screen will appear. Follow the on-screen prompts to select your desired language and begin the setup wizard.

3.2 Smart Life App Download & Connection

The system is managed via the Smart Life app. Follow these steps to download and connect:

  1. On the control panel's screen, scan the appropriate Smart Life QR code (for iOS or Android) using your smartphone's camera app.
  2. Select the Smart Life app link that appears on your camera app to open the installation screen on your device. Press 'Install'.
  3. Once installation is complete, press 'Open'.
  4. Select 'Agree' to the User Agreement and Privacy Policy.
  5. Log in if you have an existing Smart Life account, or sign up for a new account.
  6. Allow Smart Life to send you notifications. This is crucial for self-monitoring, as alerts (e.g., alarm triggered) will be sent via the app.
  7. Allow Smart Life to access Bluetooth and Location services when prompted.
  8. On the control panel, select 'Wi-Fi' and follow the prompts to connect to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
  9. On the Smart Life app, press the blue '+' icon (top right) and then 'Add Device'. The system should be discovered automatically.
  10. Once connected, the app will display the alarm system's status. If a new update is available, select 'Update Now' to ensure optimal performance and security features. The system will reboot after the update.

3.3 Adding Sensors

The kit includes contact sensors for doors/windows and motion sensors for area monitoring. Ensure batteries are active before pairing.

  1. On the control panel, navigate to 'Add Accessories' and select 'Add a Sensor'.
  2. Choose the sensor type (Entry for Contact Sensor, Motion for Motion Sensor).
  3. Select the desired mode (e.g., 'Away/Home' for contact sensors, 'Away' for motion sensors).
  4. Select 'Pair' and follow the on-screen instructions to trigger the sensor (e.g., separate contact sensor halves, wave hand in front of motion sensor).
  5. Once paired, go to the Smart Life app, select 'Accessories', and then the specific sensor. Use 'Sub device name' to rename the sensor (e.g., 'Front Door', 'Living Room Motion'). This name will appear in app notifications.

For immediate assistance, press the panic button (SOS) conveniently located on the display, app, and remote control. This will quickly sound the siren and notify all shared app users.

The system receives regular, complimentary updates to maintain peak performance, security, and introduce new features. Ensure your system is updated when prompted by the app.

5.2 Backup Battery

The control panel features a 24-hour backup battery to ensure uninterrupted security during power outages. Sensors and remotes have their own batteries with long lifespans (up to 5 years for contact sensors).
