This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper use and maintenance of your AOFAR HX1000 Hunting Range Finder. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the device to ensure safe and effective use.
1.1 Product Overview
The AOFAR HX1000 is a high-precision laser range finder designed for hunting and outdoor activities. It features 6X magnification, accurate distance measurement up to 1000 yards, and multiple measurement modes including range, scan, speed, and angle. Its compact and waterproof design ensures reliable performance in various outdoor conditions.

2. Safety Guidelines
To ensure safe operation and prolong the lifespan of your device, please observe the following safety precautions:
- Do not look directly into the sun or any bright light source through the range finder. This can cause permanent eye damage.
- Do not aim the laser at people or animals. The laser emitted is invisible and can cause eye injury.
- Keep the device out of reach of children.
- Use only the specified battery type (CR2).
- Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the device. Unauthorized modifications can void the warranty and cause damage.
- Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
3. Getting Started (Setup)
3.1 Battery Installation
The AOFAR HX1000 uses one CR2 battery. Follow these steps to install the battery:
- Locate the battery compartment on the side of the range finder.
- Twist the battery compartment cap counter-clockwise to open it.
- Insert one CR2 battery, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the indicators inside the compartment.
- Replace the battery compartment cap and twist it clockwise until it is securely closed.
Note: A new battery is included with your purchase. If the device does not power on, check the battery orientation or replace the battery.
4. Operating Instructions
The AOFAR HX1000 features a simple two-button operation for ease of use.
4.1 Power On/Off
- To power on the device, press the POWER/MEASURE button (usually the larger button on top). The display will activate.
- The device will automatically power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.
4.2 Mode Selection
Press the MODE button (usually the smaller button on top) to cycle through the available measurement modes. The current mode will be indicated on the internal display.

4.2.1 Range Mode
This is the default mode for measuring straight-line distance to a target.
- Select Range Mode using the MODE button.
- Aim the crosshairs at your target.
- Press the POWER/MEASURE button once. The distance will be displayed instantly.

4.2.2 Scan Mode (Continuous Measurement)
Scan mode allows for continuous measurement of multiple targets or a moving target.
- Select Scan Mode using the MODE button.
- Press and hold the POWER/MEASURE button.
- Pan the range finder across different targets. The distance will update continuously on the display.

4.2.3 Speed Mode
This mode measures the speed of a moving object.
- Select Speed Mode using the MODE button.
- Aim at the moving target.
- Press the POWER/MEASURE button. The speed will be displayed in meters per second (m/s).

4.2.4 Angle Mode (Angle and Horizontal Distance)
This mode provides both the line-of-sight distance and the compensated horizontal distance, along with the angle of inclination, which is useful for archery and shooting in varied terrain.
- Select Angle Mode using the MODE button.
- Aim at your target.
- Press the POWER/MEASURE button. The display will show the line-of-sight distance, horizontal distance, and angle.
4.3 Switching Measurement Units (Meters/Yards)
To switch between meters (M) and yards (Y):
- With the device powered on, press and hold the MODE button for approximately 3 seconds.
- The unit of measurement on the display will change. Release the button when your desired unit is shown.
5. Maintenance
Proper care and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your AOFAR HX1000 Range Finder.
5.1 Cleaning
- Lenses: Use the provided cleaning cloth or a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical lenses. Gently wipe the lens surfaces to remove dust or smudges. Avoid using abrasive materials or excessive force.
- Body: Wipe the body of the range finder with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.
5.2 Storage
- When not in use, store the range finder in its protective carrying pouch.
- Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and high humidity.
- If storing for an extended period (more than a month), it is recommended to remove the battery to prevent leakage.

6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your AOFAR HX1000, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
