4. Setup and Installation

Installation of the Monstrum Side Saddle is designed to be straightforward, utilizing existing pin holes on your shotgun receiver. No specialized gunsmithing is required.

Required Tools:

Installation Steps:

  1. Ensure Firearm is Unloaded: Always verify that your shotgun is completely unloaded and safe before beginning any installation or maintenance.
  2. Prepare Receiver: Identify the pin holes on the side of your shotgun receiver where the side saddle will attach.
  3. Apply Lubricant (Optional but Recommended): Apply a small amount of gun oil or lubricant to the bottom surface of the side saddle and the corresponding area on the shotgun receiver. This can help the saddle slide on smoothly and prevent minor scratches during installation.
  4. Align and Attach: Carefully align the side saddle with the pin holes on the receiver. Insert the provided screws through the side saddle and into the receiver pin holes. It may be necessary to push the main screw through the back of the shotgun to secure it.
  5. Tighten Hardware: Hand-tighten all screws initially. Once all screws are in place, gradually tighten them evenly until secure. Avoid over-tightening. Some users recommend applying a small amount of thread locker (e.g., Loctite) to the screws to prevent loosening from recoil.
  6. Function Check: After installation, cycle the shotgun's action several times to ensure there is no interference with the pump or ejection port. Verify that the side saddle is firmly attached and does not wobble.

  2. Insert the brass end of the shell into one of the shell retention loops on the side saddle.
  3. Push the shell firmly until it is fully seated and held securely by the elastic or rubberized loops. The shells should be held tightly to prevent accidental dislodgement.

Removing Shells:

  1. Grasp the desired shell firmly.
  2. Pull the shell directly away from the side saddle to release it from the retention loop.

Using the Optic Rail:

The integrated 13-slot Picatinny rail allows for the attachment of various optics and accessories. Ensure any mounted accessories are properly secured according to their individual instructions.
