Microphone Control
To physically turn off the microphones for privacy, slide the mic switch on the back of the Nest Audio. This switch makes the microphones completely inoperable. When the mics are turned off, you'll see four orange lights on the front of your Nest Audio. To turn the microphones back on, you'll need to slide the switch back.

Maintenance

- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to clean the exterior of the speaker. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemicals.

- Water Resistance: The Google Nest Audio is NOT waterproof. Avoid exposing it to water or high humidity.
- Power Cable: Ensure the power cable is not bent, pinched, or damaged. Use only the original power adapter.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Google Nest Audio, try the following solutions:
- No Power:
- Check if the power adapter is securely plugged into both the speaker and the wall outlet.
- Ensure the wall outlet is functional by plugging in another device.
- Voice Commands Not Working:
- Verify that the microphone switch on the back of the speaker is turned on (orange lights should not be visible).
- Speak clearly and ensure you are within range of the speaker.
- Check your Wi-Fi connection, as Google Assistant requires internet access.
- Poor Sound Quality or No Audio:
- Adjust the volume using voice commands or the touch controls on the speaker.
- Ensure the audio source (e.g., Spotify) is playing correctly.
- Restart the speaker by unplugging it for 10 seconds and plugging it back in.
- Connectivity Issues (Wi-Fi/Bluetooth):
- Restart your Wi-Fi router.
- Ensure your speaker is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
- For Bluetooth, ensure the device you are trying to connect is in pairing mode and within range.
- Note: The device does not reliably support 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
- Unexpected Behavior (e.g., random loud playback):
- Check for any scheduled routines or alarms in the Google Home app that might be causing unexpected actions.
- Ensure the speaker's firmware is up to date via the Google Home app.
