Product Overview

The EverNary WiFi Mailbox Alert system provides a convenient way to receive instant notifications when your mailbox is accessed. It consists of a weatherproof mailbox sensor and a WiFi gateway (hub) that connects to your home's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Alerts are sent directly to your smartphone via the Smart Life app, ensuring you never miss a mail delivery.

Setup Guide

1. App Download and Account Registration

  1. Download the "Smart Life" app from your smartphone's app store (available on iOS and Android).
  2. Open the app and register for a new account or log in if you already have one.

2. Adding the WiFi Gateway to the App

  1. Plug the WiFi Gateway (hub) into a power outlet within range of your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
  2. Open the Smart Life app. On the home screen, tap the "+" icon to add a device.
  3. Select "Electrical" or "Gateway" from the device list, then choose the appropriate gateway type.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the gateway to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. You will need to enter your Wi-Fi password. Ensure your phone is also connected to the 2.4GHz network during this process.
  5. If the device is not found, you may need to reset the gateway. Press and hold the RESET button on the gateway for 5 seconds until the indicator light blinks rapidly.

3. Installing the Mailbox Sensor

The mailbox sensor is designed for easy installation and is IP55 rain-tight, making it suitable for outdoor use.

  1. Choose a suitable location inside your mailbox where the sensor can detect the opening of the mailbox door. The sensor should be mounted so that it can detect a change in position when the door opens.
  2. Clean the surface inside the mailbox where you intend to mount the sensor.
  3. Attach the buckle (mounting bracket) using either the provided double-sided stickers or screws. Ensure it is securely fastened.
  4. Snap the mailbox sensor into the buckle. Ensure the "UP" arrows on the sensor face upwards.
  5. Test the sensor by opening and closing your mailbox door. The WiFi gateway should flash and ring, and you should receive a notification on your phone.

The working distance between the mailbox sensor and the hub is approximately 800ft (250m) in open areas and 30-200ft indoors, depending on obstacles.

Operating Instructions

Receiving Alerts

Once the mailbox sensor is installed and paired with the WiFi gateway, and the gateway is connected to your Wi-Fi, you will receive instant notifications on your smartphone when your mailbox is opened. The gateway will also flash and ring twice.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

The mailbox sensor is powered by 4 CR2 Lithium batteries (included). When the battery level is low, the app will notify you. To replace the batteries:

  1. Carefully remove the mailbox sensor from its mounting buckle.
  2. Open the battery compartment.
  3. Remove the old batteries and insert new 4 CR2 Lithium batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Close the battery compartment and reattach the sensor to its buckle.

Cleaning

Wipe the sensor and gateway with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure the sensor is dry before re-exposing it to outdoor elements.

Troubleshooting

  • Check phone's app notification settings and ensure Smart Life app has permission to send notifications.
Gateway not ringing/flashing.
  • Sensor not triggering.
  • Gateway settings configured to silent/no light.
  • Verify sensor installation and ensure it detects mailbox opening (test by opening/closing).
  • Check gateway settings in the Smart Life app to ensure sound and light alerts are enabled.
Cannot connect gateway to Wi-Fi.
  • Only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
  • Incorrect Wi-Fi password.
  • Gateway too far from router.
  • Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz network and your phone is connected to it during setup.
  • Double-check the Wi-Fi password.
  • Move the gateway closer to your Wi-Fi router.
