5. Setup and Installation
Before proceeding, ensure all power is disconnected from the circuit you intend to modify.
5.1 Hub Compatibility and Connection
The Otcboimo TYWB1CH-D1 module requires a Zigbee hub for most smart home integrations. Some Amazon Echo devices can connect directly.
- Direct Connection: Connects directly to Amazon Echo Plus (Model: ZE39KL), Echo Show (2nd Gen) (Model: DW84JL), and Echo Plus (2nd Gen) (Model: L9D29R) without an additional Zigbee hub.
- Zigbee Hub Required: Compatible with Tuya Zigbee hub (recommended for best compatibility), eWeLink Zigbee hub, Samsung SmartThings hub, Philips Hue hub, Sonoff Zigbee Bridge, and Zigbee HA Hub.

Figure 3: Zigbee Hub Compatibility. This diagram illustrates the various Zigbee hubs and devices compatible with the smart switch module, including Amazon Echo devices, SmartThings Hub, eWeLink Hub, Tuya Zigbee Hub, and Zigbee2mqtt.
To pair with a Zigbee hub, follow the specific pairing instructions for your hub and then initiate pairing on the Otcboimo module (usually by pressing a pairing button for a few seconds until an indicator light flashes).
5.2 Wiring Diagrams
The module supports two main working modes: Inching (Momentary) and Self-locking. The wiring configuration depends on the desired application.
5.2.1 Wiring for Access Control (Inching Mode)
This configuration is suitable for applications like gate openers or garage doors where a momentary pulse is required to trigger an action.

Figure 4: Wiring for Access Control (Inching Mode). This diagram shows how to connect the smart switch module to an access control system. The module's COM and NO terminals are connected to the button input of the access control system, which is powered by AC 85-250V. The module itself receives input power from AC 85-250V.
5.2.2 Wiring for Inching Mode with Remote Control
This diagram illustrates how to connect the module to a remote control for momentary operation.

Figure 5: Wiring for Inching Mode with Remote Control. This image shows the smart switch module connected to a remote control board. The module's COM and NO terminals are wired to specific pins on the remote control board. The module receives input power from AC 85-250V.
5.2.3 Wiring for Self-locking Mode
Self-locking mode functions like a traditional on/off switch, maintaining its state until toggled again. This is suitable for controlling lights or other appliances that require continuous power.

Figure 6: Wiring for Self-locking Mode. This diagram presents two self-locking wiring examples. Both show the module receiving AC 85-250V input. In 'self-locking 1', the COM and NO terminals are connected to a light bulb circuit. In 'self-locking 2', the COM and NC terminals are connected to a light bulb circuit. The note emphasizes that it is a dry contact switch, providing only a pulse signal, and requires an external power supply for the output side.
Important Note: The module provides dry contact output (passive output). It does not output electricity directly. An external power supply is required for the appliance connected to the output terminals (NC, NO, COM).
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Working Modes
- Inching Mode (Momentary): When activated, the channel turns on and automatically closes after a set duration. The default inching time is 0.5 seconds. This duration can be adjusted within the range of 1-3600 seconds only when using a Tuya hub. Other hubs may not support this adjustment.
- Self-locking Mode: Functions like a standard toggle switch. Press once to turn on and keep it on; press again to turn off and keep it off.
The working mode can typically be switched via the mode switch button on the device or through the connected smart home app, depending on the hub used.
6.2 App Remote Control
Once paired with a compatible Zigbee hub (e.g., Tuya, eWeLink), you can control the module remotely using the respective mobile application (Tuya/Smart Life app for Tuya hub, eWeLink app for eWeLink hub). This allows you to turn connected appliances on/off from anywhere.
6.3 Voice Control
With a connected Zigbee hub, the module can be integrated with voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This enables hands-free control of your devices.

Figure 7: Voice Control Integration. This image depicts a user interacting with a smart speaker, demonstrating voice control functionality with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. The text shows an example command: "Hi Alexa, turn on the light." and the response: "Okay."
To enable voice control, link your smart home app (e.g., Tuya Smart, Smart Life) with your Alexa or Google Home account and discover new devices.
6.4 RF433MHz Control
The module supports pairing with RF433MHz remote controllers for local control.
- Pairing: Press the RF433 pairing button on the device for 3 seconds. Wait until the blue LED indicator turns on. Then, press any button on your RF433MHz remote controller. The device should successfully pair.
- Clearing Pairing: To clear all paired RF433MHz remotes, press the RF433 pairing button for 8 seconds. Wait until the blue LED indicator turns off. This action will clear all stored RF pairings.
7. Maintenance
The Otcboimo TYWB1CH-D1 Smart Switch Module requires minimal maintenance. Keep the device clean and free from dust. Do not use harsh chemicals for cleaning. Ensure it is installed in a dry environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, to prolong its lifespan.
8. Troubleshooting
- Device Not Responding:
- Check if the power supply to the module is stable and within the specified voltage range (USB 5V or DC/AC 7V-32V).
- Ensure the Zigbee hub is powered on and connected to your network.
- Verify that the module is successfully paired with your Zigbee hub. Try re-pairing if necessary.
- Check the distance between the module and the Zigbee hub; ensure it's within range.
- App Control Issues:
- Confirm your smartphone has an active internet connection.
- Ensure the correct app (Tuya/Smart Life or eWeLink) is being used and is up to date.
- Log out and log back into the app.
- Voice Control Not Working:
- Verify that your Zigbee hub is linked to your Alexa or Google Home account.
- Ensure the device is discovered and named appropriately in your voice assistant app.
