4. Setup Guide
- Unpack the Device: Carefully remove the external CD/DVD drive and all accessories from the carrying case.
- Connect to Computer:
- Locate the built-in 2-in-1 USB 3.0 data cable on the back of the drive.
- Connect the appropriate connector (USB-A or USB-C) to an available USB 3.0 port on your laptop or desktop PC.
Note: For optimal performance and to prevent power issues, connect the drive directly to a USB 3.0 port on your computer, not through a USB hub unless the hub is powered.
- Power Supply (Optional but Recommended): If your computer's USB port does not provide sufficient power (e.g., older laptops, some desktop configurations), connect the provided USB A to DC Power Supply Cable to the DC 5V port on the drive and plug the USB-A end into a separate power source (e.g., a 5V USB adapter, not included).
- Automatic Recognition: The drive is Plug and Play. Your operating system (Windows, Mac OS, Linux) should automatically detect and install the necessary drivers. No manual driver installation is typically required.
- Ready for Use: Once recognized, the RGB LED indicator light will illuminate, and the drive will appear in your computer's file explorer or Finder.
