4. Installation Guide

Follow these steps carefully to install your ENERMAX LIQMAXFLO AIO liquid cooler. Ensure your PC case has adequate space for a 420mm radiator.

4.1. Prepare the CPU Socket

  • For Intel Sockets (LGA 1700, 1200, 115x, 2011, 2066):
    1. Install the appropriate backplate (if required for your socket) behind the motherboard.
    2. Screw in the correct Intel standoffs into the motherboard mounting holes.
  • For AMD Sockets (AM5, AM4, AM3+, AM2+, FM2+, FM1):
    1. Remove the stock AMD retention brackets from the motherboard, but keep the original backplate.
    2. Screw in the correct AMD standoffs into the motherboard mounting holes.

4.2. Install Radiator and Fans

  • Attach the three 140mm ARGB PWM fans to the radiator using the long fan screws. Ensure the fan airflow direction is optimal for your case (typically exhausting air out of the case).
  • Mount the radiator assembly to the desired location in your PC case (e.g., top, front) using the shorter radiator screws.

4.3. Install Pump/Water Block

  • Ensure the CPU surface is clean. If the thermal paste is not pre-applied, apply a small pea-sized amount to the center of your CPU.
  • Attach the correct Intel or AMD mounting brackets to the pump head.
  • Carefully place the pump/water block onto the CPU, aligning the mounting holes with the standoffs.
  • Secure the pump/water block by tightening the thumb nuts or screws onto the standoffs in a cross pattern until snug. Do not overtighten.

4.4. Cable Connections

  • Connect the pump's 3-pin or 4-pin connector to the CPU_FAN or AIO_PUMP header on your motherboard.
  • Connect the 60mm VRM fan's cable to an available fan header on your motherboard.
  • Connect the ARGB cables from the fans and pump to the included ARGB controller or directly to a 5V ARGB header on your motherboard.
  • Connect the fan PWM cables to the ARGB controller or directly to available PWM fan headers on your motherboard.
  • Connect the ARGB controller to a SATA power connector from your power supply.

5. Operating Instructions

Once installed, the ENERMAX LIQMAXFLO AIO cooler operates automatically based on your motherboard's fan control settings. Ensure your BIOS/UEFI settings are configured to allow proper fan speed control for optimal cooling and noise levels.

5.1. ARGB Lighting Control

The Addressable RGB (ARGB) lighting on the fans and pump can be controlled in several ways:

  • Motherboard Sync: If connected to a 5V ARGB header on your motherboard, you can control the lighting effects using your motherboard's RGB software (e.g., ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light Sync, GIGABYTE RGB Fusion, ASRock Polychrome Sync).
  • Included ARGB Controller: If connected to the standalone ARGB controller, use the buttons on the controller to cycle through various lighting modes, colors, and speeds. Refer to the controller's specific instructions for detailed operation.

5.2. VRM Fan Functionality

The integrated 60mm VRM fan on the water block is designed to cool the Voltage Regulator Modules (VRMs) and other components around the CPU socket. This fan operates based on the PWM signal it receives, typically controlled by motherboard temperature sensors. This active cooling helps maintain system stability and extends component lifespan, especially under heavy loads.

5.3. Xtreme Dual Chamber Pump

The Xtreme Dual Chamber pump design separates the cold and hot coolant channels, preventing heat transfer and improving overall cooling efficiency. The 3-phase PWM motor ensures powerful and consistent coolant flow, while the patented Shunt Channel Technology on the cold plate maximizes heat absorption from the CPU.

5.4. Silent Flow Fans

The included Silent Flow ARGB PWM fans are engineered with a unique blade design that generates high static pressure and airflow, crucial for pushing air through the radiator fins. The Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) technology ensures quiet operation and a long lifespan.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your AIO liquid cooler.

  • Dust Cleaning: Periodically clean dust from the radiator fins and fan blades using compressed air. Ensure the fans are not spinning during cleaning to prevent damage.
  • Coolant Level Check: The LIQMAXFLO features a refill port. Over time, a small amount of coolant may evaporate. Check the coolant level periodically (e.g., annually) and top up using the provided coolant bottle if necessary. Refer to the refill port instructions for safe refilling.
  • Tubing Inspection: Inspect the tubing for any signs of kinks, leaks, or damage. If any issues are found, contact technical support.
  • Thermal Paste: While the pre-applied thermal paste is high quality, if you ever remove the water block, clean off the old thermal paste from both the CPU and the cold plate and apply new thermal paste before reinstallation.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your ENERMAX LIQMAXFLO AIO cooler, refer to the table below for common problems and solutions.

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
High CPU TemperaturesPoor thermal paste application, loose water block, insufficient airflow, pump failure.Re-apply thermal paste, ensure water block is securely mounted, check fan orientation and speed, verify pump is running (listen for faint hum or check software).
Fans Not Spinning / ARGB Not Lighting UpLoose cable connections, incorrect header connection, software issue, faulty component.Check all fan and ARGB cable connections to motherboard/controller. Ensure SATA power is connected to the ARGB controller. Verify motherboard BIOS/software settings.
Pump Noise / Gurgling SoundAir bubbles in the loop, pump running at high speed.Orient the radiator so the pump is not the highest point in the loop. Gently tilt the PC case to help dislodge air bubbles. Adjust pump speed in BIOS/software.
Cooler Does Not Fit in CaseCase incompatibility with 420mm radiator. This cooler requires a large case. Verify case specifications for 420mm radiator support before purchase.
