2. Attaching Contact Points (if necessary)

The receiver collar comes with contact points. Choose the appropriate length based on your dog's fur length. For dogs with shorter fur, the shorter contact points or even no metal contact points (using only the silicone caps) may be sufficient for vibration and tone. For dogs with thicker fur, longer contact points may be required to ensure proper contact with the skin. Attach the conductive silicone caps over the metal contact points for added comfort and to prevent direct metal-to-skin contact.

3. Adjusting the Collar Strap

The nylon strap is adjustable and can be cut to fit your dog's neck size. Ensure the collar is snug enough for the contact points to make consistent contact with the skin, but not so tight that it causes discomfort. You should be able to fit one finger comfortably between the collar and your dog's neck.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the collar and contact points with a damp cloth. Ensure all components are dry before charging or storing.
  • Battery Care: Charge the devices fully before long periods of inactivity to preserve battery health.
  • Storage: Store the collar and remote in a dry place at room temperature.
  • Skin Inspection: Regularly check your dog's neck for any signs of irritation or sores from the contact points. If irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult a veterinarian.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Collar not responding to remote. Low battery on either device, out of range, or not properly paired. Charge both units. Ensure you are within the 3300ft range. Re-pair the remote and collar according to the pairing instructions in the full user guide.
Stimulation/Vibration not felt by dog. Collar too loose, incorrect contact point length, or silicone caps are on when not intended for use with stimulation. Adjust collar for a snug fit. Use longer contact points for thicker fur. Ensure silicone caps are removed if direct contact is needed for stimulation (though not recommended for comfort). Test the stimulation with the provided test light tool.
Remote settings change accidentally. Rotary dial is easily turned in a pocket. Utilize the stimulation lock feature by pushing the rotary dial down. Be mindful of how the remote is carried.
Skin irritation on dog's neck. Collar worn for too long, too tight, or improper contact point use. Do not leave the collar on for more than 8-12 hours per day. Ensure proper fit (one finger space). Rotate collar position daily. If irritation persists, discontinue use and consult a veterinarian.
