Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Tchibo Qbo Essential machine.
- Daily Cleaning:
- Drip Tray and Grid: Remove the drip tray and grid. Empty any collected liquid and rinse both parts with warm soapy water. Dry thoroughly before reassembling.
- Used Capsule Container: Empty the container daily and rinse it with warm water.
- Coffee Outlet: Wipe the coffee outlet area with a damp cloth to remove any coffee residue.
- Water Tank Cleaning: Clean the water tank weekly with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly to remove any soap residue.
- Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) can build up in your machine, affecting performance and coffee taste. The frequency of descaling depends on the hardness of your water.
- Use a descaling solution specifically designed for coffee machines. Follow the instructions provided with the descaling product.
- Typically, this involves filling the water tank with the descaling solution, running cycles through the machine, and then rinsing thoroughly with fresh water.
- Do not use vinegar as it can damage internal components.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
