Setup

1. Memory Card Installation and Formatting

  1. Insert a compatible microSD card (16GB to 128GB, UHS-I, C10/U1/U3/V10/V30) into the dash cam's memory card slot.
  2. Before first use, format the memory card to FAT32 using the dash cam's settings menu to ensure proper functionality. Refer to the 'Operating Instructions' section for menu navigation.

The dash cam supports microSD cards up to 128GB. Ensure the card is formatted to FAT32 before use to prevent recording issues. High-speed cards (UHS-II) are not supported.

2. Dash Cam Installation

  1. Clean the area on your windshield where you intend to mount the dash cam.
  2. Apply the static electricity sticker to the chosen area on the windshield.
  3. Attach the adhesive mount to the static electricity sticker.
  4. Mount the dash cam onto the adhesive mount. The mount allows for 360° horizontal and 90° vertical rotation for optimal viewing angle adjustment.
  5. Connect the car charger cable to the dash cam and plug the other end into your car's cigarette lighter socket. Use the provided wire clips to neatly route the cable, ensuring it does not obstruct your view.

The compact size of the dash cam allows it to be discreetly placed behind the rearview mirror, minimizing obstruction to the driver's view.

3. Smartphone App Connection (WiFi)

  1. Download the free "Avylet" app from the App Store (for iPhone) or Google Play (for Android). Ensure you have the latest version of the app.
  2. On the dash cam, stop recording and enter the settings menu to turn on the WiFi function. Alternatively, press the second button from the left directly to toggle WiFi on/off. After turning on WiFi, return to the recording screen and save the settings.
  3. On your smartphone, go to WiFi settings and connect to the dash cam's WiFi network.
  4. Open the Avylet app. You can now access real-time video, adjust settings, and download recorded files to your phone.

The app allows for convenient control and access to your dash cam's features. Note that simultaneous WiFi connection to both the dash cam and a car screen from the same smartphone is not possible.

4. External GPS Module (Optional)

If you have purchased an external GPS module (sold separately), connect it to the designated port on the dash cam. This module records accurate location, speed, and route information, which can be crucial evidence in case of an incident. To play back videos with GPS data, a specialized player is required. Contact customer support for information on obtaining the GPS module and player.

Operating Instructions

1. Automatic Recording and Loop Recording

The dash cam automatically starts recording when the car engine is turned on. It features loop recording, which continuously records video in segments (e.g., 1, 3, or 5 minutes). When the memory card is full, the oldest unlocked files are automatically overwritten. This ensures continuous recording without manual intervention.

2. G-Sensor (Emergency Recording)

The built-in high-sensitivity G-sensor detects sudden impacts or collisions. When an impact is detected during driving or parking, the current video segment is automatically locked and saved in an "Emergency Recording" folder. These files are protected from being overwritten by loop recording, serving as crucial evidence.

3. 24-Hour Parking Monitoring

The dash cam offers two modes for 24-hour parking monitoring to protect your vehicle:

  • Time-lapse Recording: Records periodically while the engine is off, compiling the footage into a time-lapse video.
  • Motion Detection: If motion is detected within the camera's field of view, it automatically starts a 30-second video recording. If a G-sensor event occurs during motion detection recording, that video will be locked.

Note: This product does not have a built-in battery. To enable 24-hour parking monitoring, an ACC step-down cable (Type-C compatible, sold separately) is required to provide continuous power. Please contact customer support for details.

4. Super Night Vision and WDR

Equipped with an F/1.6 large aperture lens and 6-layer glass lenses, the dash cam achieves over 90% light transmittance, enabling clear recording even at night or in low-light conditions. The Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) function automatically adjusts image contrast in environments with significant brightness differences (e.g., backlight, tunnel entrances), preventing overexposure and underexposure.

5. OTA Firmware Updates

The dash cam supports Over-The-Air (OTA) firmware updates. You can download and install the latest firmware for free via the smartphone app, ensuring your dash cam always has the best performance and features. For Android users, download the firmware in a network-connected environment first, then connect to the dash cam's WiFi via the app to perform the upgrade.

Maintenance

  • Lens Protection Film: Ensure the lens protection film is removed before use. Failure to do so may result in blurry recorded images.
  • Memory Card: Regularly format your microSD card (at least once a month) to maintain optimal recording performance and prevent data corruption.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the dash cam's lens and screen. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Temperature: The dash cam is designed to operate in extreme temperatures (-20°C to 70°C) thanks to its supercapacitor. However, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight in extremely hot conditions when the vehicle is parked, if possible.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Solutions:

  • Cannot connect to WiFi / App connection fails:
    • Ensure WiFi is enabled on the dash cam (stop recording, enter settings, or press the second button from the left).
    • Make sure you are using the latest version of the "Avylet" app. Old app versions may cause connection failures.
    • Ensure your smartphone is physically close to the dash cam. The dash cam's WiFi is designed for in-car use.
  • Recorded images are blurry:
    • Check if the lens protection film has been removed. Remove it if it's still present.
    • Clean the lens with a soft cloth.
  • Memory card issues (e.g., "Card Error", recording stops):
    • Ensure the memory card is compatible (16-128GB, UHS-I, C10/U1/U3/V10/V30). High-speed UHS-II cards are not supported.
    • Format the memory card to FAT32 using the dash cam's settings.
    • Try a different, high-quality memory card.
  • Dash cam does not power on or record:
    • Ensure the car charger is properly connected to the cigarette lighter socket and the car's engine is on. The dash cam is not battery-operated.
    • If your vehicle does not have a cigarette lighter socket, contact customer support for compatible car chargers.
  • iPhone users cannot save videos to phone album or play GPS videos:
    • iPhone users can only save recorded files to the app's album, not directly to the phone's photo album.
    • To play back video files with GPS data on an iPhone, you may need to download a third-party media player like VLC Media Player. Android phones can play directly.
