Battery Installation
- Unscrew the battery compartment cap at the top of the meter.
- Insert two 1.5V LR44 button cell batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
- Securely replace the battery compartment cap.
2.2 VIVOSUN Nutrients Base A & B
The nutrient kit includes two concentrated liquid formulas: Base A (4-0-1) and Base B (1-4-2). Store these bottles in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1 pH Meter Operation
Power On/Off
Press the 'ON/OFF' button to turn the meter on or off.
Calibration
Calibration is essential for accurate readings. It is recommended to calibrate the pH meter before each use, especially if it has not been used for a while or has been exposed to moisture for an extended period.

Image 5: Calibration is recommended before each use or after prolonged storage/exposure to moisture.
The meter supports one-point, two-point, or three-point calibration using buffer powders (pH 4.00, pH 6.86, pH 9.18).

Image 6: Auto-calibration process for the pH meter.
- Prepare 250ml of distilled water for each buffer powder.
- Dissolve one packet of pH buffer powder (e.g., pH 6.86) into 250ml of distilled water.
- Turn on the pH meter and immerse the electrode into the buffer solution.
- Press and hold the 'CAL' button for 5 seconds. The display will flash 3 times, indicating successful calibration.
- Repeat the process for other buffer solutions (pH 4.00 and pH 9.18) if performing a multi-point calibration.
Taking Measurements
- Ensure the meter is calibrated.
- Remove the protective cap from the electrode.
- Immerse the electrode into the liquid to be tested.
- Gently stir and wait for the reading to stabilize on the LCD screen.
- The meter features Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC), which adjusts the pH reading based on the water temperature for improved accuracy.
- After use, rinse the electrode with distilled water and replace the protective cap.
3.2 Nutrient Application
VIVOSUN Nutrients Base A and Base B are designed to be used together to provide a complete nutrient profile for your plants.

Image 7: Always dilute Base A and Base B separately before mixing.
- Prepare Water: Start with the required volume of water for your nutrient solution.
- Add Base A: Measure the appropriate amount of Base A according to your plant's growth stage and desired concentration. Add it to the water and mix thoroughly.
- Add Base B: Measure the appropriate amount of Base B. Add it to the water (after Base A has been mixed) and mix thoroughly. Important: Do not mix Base A and Base B in their concentrated forms directly. Always dilute each separately in water before combining.
- Check pH: After mixing the nutrient solution, use the VIVOSUN Digital pH Meter to test the pH level.
- Adjust pH: If the pH level is outside the optimal range for your plants, adjust it using pH Up or pH Down solutions as needed.
- Apply Solution: Use the prepared nutrient solution to water your plants.
For best results, use the nutrient solution every time you water your plants. Regular monitoring of pH and nutrient levels is crucial for plant health.
4. Maintenance
4.1 Digital pH Meter Maintenance
- Cleaning: After each use, rinse the electrode thoroughly with distilled water to remove any residue. Do not use tap water or abrasive materials.
- Storage: Always replace the protective cap after use. For long-term storage, ensure the electrode is kept moist, ideally with a few drops of pH storage solution or distilled water in the cap. Do not let the electrode dry out.
- Calibration Frequency: Re-calibrate the meter regularly, especially if readings become inconsistent or after prolonged storage.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the display becomes dim or the meter fails to power on.
4.2 Nutrient Storage
Store VIVOSUN Nutrients Base A and Base B in their original containers, tightly sealed, in a cool, dark place. Avoid extreme temperatures and direct sunlight to maintain product integrity.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1 pH Meter Issues
- Inaccurate Readings:
- Solution: Re-calibrate the meter using fresh buffer solutions. Ensure the electrode is clean and not damaged. Check battery levels.
- No Display/Meter Not Turning On:
- Solution: Check if batteries are correctly installed and replace them if necessary.
- Slow Response Time:
- Solution: Clean the electrode. Ensure the electrode is properly hydrated (not dry).
5.2 Nutrient-Related Issues
- Plant Deficiencies/Poor Growth:
- Solution: Verify the pH of your nutrient solution is within the optimal range for your specific plants. Ensure correct mixing ratios of Base A and Base B. Check for proper nutrient solution concentration.
- Precipitation in Nutrient Solution:
- Solution: Ensure Base A and Base B are diluted separately before combining. Use clean water.
