Setup
Battery Installation
The SOLA WMD 500 Digital Protractor requires one CR2032 button cell battery (included).
- Locate the battery compartment on the side of the digital display unit.
- To open the battery compartment, press firmly with two fingers on the designated points and slide the cover open. This child-safe design prevents accidental opening.
- Insert the CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing upwards.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely until it clicks into place.

Operating Instructions
Power On/Off
- Press the power button (⏻) to turn the device on or off.
- The device will automatically shut off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.
Measuring Angles
- Loosen the manual fixing knob to allow the legs to move freely.
- Position the protractor against the object or surface to be measured, ensuring both legs are flush.
- Read the angle directly from the LCD display.
- Tighten the manual fixing knob to lock the legs in place for angle transfer.

Hold Function
- Press the "HOLD" button to freeze the current angle reading on the display. This is useful for recording measurements or when the display is not easily visible during measurement.
- Press the "HOLD" button again to release the reading and return to live measurement.
Zero Function (Incremental Measurement)
- To set a new zero reference for incremental measurements, position the protractor at the desired starting angle.
- Press the "ZERO" button. The display will show "0.00°", and subsequent angle movements will be measured relative to this new zero point.
- To return to absolute angle measurement, press the "ZERO" button again.

Using as a Ruler
The protractor's legs feature a continuous millimeter/centimeter scale, allowing it to be used as a standard ruler for marking and measuring lengths.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the display or finish.
- Storage: Store the protractor in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Replacement: Replace the CR2032 battery when the display indicates low power or becomes dim. Follow the battery installation steps in the "Setup" section.

Troubleshooting
- Display Not Working:
- Check if the device is powered on.
- Ensure the battery is correctly installed with the correct polarity.
- Replace the CR2032 battery if it is depleted.
- Inaccurate Readings:
- Ensure the protractor legs are fully extended and flush against the measurement surface.
- Verify that the ZERO function has not been accidentally activated, leading to incremental measurements.
- Clean the measurement surfaces of the protractor to remove any debris.
- Legs Not Moving Smoothly:
- Loosen the manual fixing knob completely.
- Check for any obstructions or debris in the hinge mechanism.
