Koda LM030481-1
Koda LED Security Light Motion Activated Solar LED Flood Light
Model: LM030481-1
Overview
The Koda motion activated solar LED floodlight provides super bright illumination without the need for an electrical hookup. An external solar panel charges the unit during the day. At night, the infrared motion sensor activates the lights upon detecting movement up to 45 feet away. The triple-head LED lamps are fully adjustable, allowing you to direct light where it is most needed. The unit features an on/off switch, a timer with three different time settings, and brightness control ranging from 200 to 2000 lumens. It can be mounted to a wall or eave above areas such as a garage door, driveway, porch, walkway, patio, or shed.

- Weather-Resistant Design: IP44 rated for durability against various weather conditions throughout the year.
- Adjustable Settings: Easily change brightness from 2000 to 200 lumens, set light duration from 10 to 60 seconds, and tune sensor sensitivity to minimize false triggers.
- Enhanced Security: Provides intense light to deter unwanted activity, with an adjustable PIR sensor to target specific areas.
Package Contents
Please ensure all items are present before beginning installation:
- 1 x Motion Activated LED Floodlight Unit
- 1 x Solar Panel
- 2 x Rechargeable Lithium Batteries (pre-installed)
- 1 x Mounting Plate
- 7 x Mounting Screws
- 7 x Wall Anchors
Setup Instructions
1. Choosing a Location
Select a mounting location for the floodlight that provides optimal coverage for the desired area. Ensure the solar panel can be positioned in a location that receives at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily for efficient charging. The solar panel cable allows for mounting up to 17 feet away from the light fixture.
2. Mounting the Light Fixture
- Position the mounting plate on the desired surface (wall or eave).
- Mark the drilling points through the holes on the mounting plate.
- Drill pilot holes at the marked points. Insert wall anchors if mounting into masonry or drywall.
- Secure the mounting plate using the provided mounting screws.
- Attach the floodlight unit to the secured mounting plate.
3. Mounting the Solar Panel
- Choose a location for the solar panel that maximizes direct sunlight exposure throughout the day.
- Position the solar panel bracket and mark the drilling points.
- Drill pilot holes and insert wall anchors if necessary.
- Secure the solar panel bracket using the provided screws.
- Attach the solar panel to its bracket and adjust its angle to face the sun.
- Connect the solar panel cable to the floodlight unit.

Operating Instructions
1. Adjusting Light Heads
The three LED light heads are independently adjustable. Gently pivot each light head to direct the illumination to your desired areas. This allows for broad coverage or focused lighting.
2. Control Dial Settings
The floodlight features control dials located on the motion sensor unit for customizing its operation:

- TIME: This dial controls how long the light remains on after motion is detected. Adjust it to set the duration from 10 to 60 seconds.
- SENS (Sensitivity): This dial adjusts the sensitivity of the motion sensor. Turn it to fine-tune the detection range and reduce false triggers from small animals or distant movements. The maximum detection range is 45 feet.
- LUX (Brightness/Light Sensor): This dial determines the ambient light level at which the motion sensor becomes active. Set it to ensure the light only activates in low-light conditions or darkness. The brightness can be adjusted from 200 to 2000 lumens.

Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Koda LED Security Light, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:
- Clean the Solar Panel: Periodically wipe the surface of the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, leaves, or snow. A clean panel ensures maximum sunlight absorption and efficient battery charging.
- Clean the Light Fixture: Gently clean the LED light heads and motion sensor lens with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Check Connections: Occasionally inspect the connection between the solar panel and the light fixture to ensure it remains secure and free from corrosion.
- Battery Care: The pre-installed rechargeable lithium batteries are designed for long-term use. If the light's performance significantly degrades over time, consider replacing the batteries with compatible rechargeable lithium batteries.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Koda LED Security Light, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Light does not turn on at night. | Insufficient solar panel charging. | Ensure the solar panel is in a location receiving 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily. Clean the solar panel surface. |
| Light is dim or only stays on for a short time. | Battery charge is low. | Allow the solar panel to charge for a full day in direct sunlight. Check for obstructions blocking sunlight. |
| Light activates too frequently or at inappropriate times. | Motion sensor sensitivity is too high. | Adjust the 'SENS' dial to a lower setting. Ensure the sensor is not pointed at moving objects like trees or busy streets. |
| Light stays on constantly. | 'LUX' setting is too high or a continuous motion source. | Adjust the 'LUX' dial to a lower setting so it only activates in darkness. Check for constant motion within the sensor's range. |
| Light does not detect motion effectively. | Motion sensor is obstructed or sensitivity is too low. | Clear any obstructions from the sensor lens. Adjust the 'SENS' dial to a higher setting. Ensure the sensor is aimed correctly. |
