2. Safety Instructions

Please read these safety instructions carefully before installation and use. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or other hazards.

  • Electrical Safety: Installation should only be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with local wiring regulations. Always disconnect the power supply before installation, maintenance, or repair.
  • Voltage: Ensure the power supply voltage (230V) matches the requirements of the floodlight.
  • Grounding: The floodlight must be properly grounded to prevent electric shock.
  • Heat: Do not cover the floodlight during operation, as this may cause overheating. Ensure adequate ventilation around the fixture.
  • Light Source: Do not stare directly into the LED light source when it is illuminated, as this may cause eye damage.
  • Damage: Do not use the floodlight if the cable or housing is damaged. Contact customer support for assistance.

3. Setup

3.1 Mounting the Floodlight

The HOFTRONIC LED floodlight is designed for easy installation on various surfaces such as walls, ceilings, or ground. The adjustable bracket allows for flexible positioning to direct the light as needed.

  1. Choose Location: Select a suitable mounting location that provides the desired illumination area and allows for optimal motion sensor detection.
  2. Mark Drilling Points: Use the mounting bracket as a template to mark the drilling points on the chosen surface.
  3. Drill Holes: Drill holes of appropriate size for your mounting screws (not included).
  4. Secure Bracket: Attach the mounting bracket securely to the surface using suitable screws and anchors.
  5. Attach Floodlight: Mount the floodlight onto the secured bracket. The bracket allows for a 175° tilt angle adjustment.

3.2 Electrical Wiring

The floodlight comes with an installation cable. It operates directly on 230V AC power, eliminating the need for an external transformer.

  1. Disconnect Power: Ensure the main power supply is switched off before connecting any wires.
  2. Connect Wires: Connect the floodlight's cable to your 230V mains supply. Use a waterproof cable connector (not included) if extending the cable or for outdoor connections to maintain IP65 rating.
  3. Ensure Proper Connections: Connect the Live (brown), Neutral (blue), and Earth (yellow/green) wires correctly.
  4. Secure Connections: Ensure all connections are tight and properly insulated.

3.3 Sensor Adjustment

The integrated PIR motion sensor and twilight switch can be adjusted to suit your specific needs.

  • Motion Sensor (PIR): The PIR motion sensor has a detection range of up to 10 meters and a detection angle of 120 degrees. Position the floodlight to cover the desired detection area.
  • Twilight Switch: The sensitivity of the twilight switch is continuously adjustable. This allows you to set the ambient light level at which the floodlight will activate. Adjust it to prevent the light from turning on unnecessarily during daylight hours.

4. Operating Instructions

Once installed and adjusted, the HOFTRONIC LED Floodlight operates automatically based on its sensor settings.

  • Automatic Activation: When the ambient light level falls below the set threshold of the twilight switch, the floodlight enters an active state.
  • Motion Detection: In the active state, if the PIR motion sensor detects movement within its 10-meter, 120-degree range, the LED floodlight will illuminate.
  • Illumination Duration: The light will remain on for a set period (typically adjustable, though specific adjustment details are not provided in the product description, refer to the physical product's controls for this setting). After this period, if no further motion is detected, the light will turn off.
  • Daylight Deactivation: When the ambient light level rises above the set threshold of the twilight switch, the floodlight will deactivate and will not turn on even if motion is detected.

5. Maintenance

The HOFTRONIC LED Floodlight is designed for durability and minimal maintenance. Its IP65 rating ensures protection against dust and water jets, making it suitable for all weather conditions.

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the floodlight's surface and sensor lens with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish or sensor.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the power cable and connections for any signs of wear or damage. Ensure the mounting screws remain tight.
  • Corrosion Resistance: The floodlight features AKZO NOBEL powder coating for corrosion resistance, ensuring long-term performance in various environments.
