3. Installation Guide

Installation of the Passive Air Vent is designed to be straightforward. Please follow these steps carefully to ensure proper function and safety.

3.1. Safety Precautions

  • Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and gloves, to prevent injury from sharp edges or debris during installation.
  • Ensure the installation area is clear of electrical wiring, plumbing, and other obstructions before drilling.
  • If you are unsure about any step, consult a qualified professional.

3.2. Tools Required

  • Hole Saw (appropriate size for duct diameter, typically 4-5 inches or 100-125 mm)
  • Drill
  • Measuring Tape
  • Pencil/Marker
  • Screwdriver
  • Level

3.3. Installation Steps

  1. Select Location: Choose a suitable location on an exterior wall for the vent. Consider airflow patterns and aesthetic integration.
  2. Mark Hole: Using the vent's dimensions as a guide, mark the center point for the hole. Ensure the marked area is free from internal obstructions.
  3. Drill Pilot Hole: Drill a small pilot hole through the wall from the inside to the outside.
  4. Cut Opening: From the outside, use an appropriate hole saw (recommended 100-125 mm or 4-5 inches) to cut the opening for the duct. Ensure the hole is clean and smooth. Note: A 4-inch hole may be too small for the full assembly; a slightly larger hole (e.g., 5 inches) might be necessary to accommodate the clamp and ensure proper fit.
  5. Insert Duct: Carefully insert the telescopic aluminum duct through the prepared hole. Adjust its length to fit the wall thickness.
  6. Secure Exterior Grille: Attach the exterior stainless steel grille to the outside wall using appropriate fasteners (not included, depending on wall material). Ensure it is flush and sealed to prevent water intrusion.
  7. Attach Interior Assembly: From the inside, connect the interior vent assembly to the duct. Secure it firmly, ensuring a tight seal.
  8. Final Check: Verify that the vent is securely installed, level, and that the adjustable panel operates smoothly.

4. Operation

The Weiworld Passive Air Vent operates automatically based on natural pressure differences. However, you can manually adjust the airflow to suit your preferences.

4.1. Adjusting Airflow

The vent features a two-step diffuser with adjustable air volume. To adjust the airflow, simply press the central button on the interior panel. This mechanism allows you to cycle through different settings (e.g., closed, low, medium, high) to control the amount of fresh air entering your room. The vent can be fully closed to prevent airflow when desired.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your Passive Air Vent.

5.1. Cleaning the Mesh Filter

The internal mesh filter should be cleaned periodically to maintain efficient air filtration and airflow.

  1. Remove Panel: Rotate the round interior panel to the left until it is completely separated from the vent cover.
  2. Remove Retainer: Pull out the retainer upwards to access the mesh filter.
  3. Clean Filter: Gently remove the mesh filter. Clean it using a soft brush or by rinsing with water. Allow it to dry completely before reinstallation.
  4. Reinstall: Place the clean, dry filter back into position, secure the retainer, and reattach the round panel by rotating it to the right until it locks into place.

Note: The mesh filter can also be replaced if it is damaged or excessively dirty.

6. Troubleshooting
