6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficiency of your pool heater.

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the unit, especially the fan and coil areas, to ensure unobstructed airflow. Use a soft cloth and mild detergent.
  • Hose Connections: Regularly inspect all hose connections for leaks or signs of wear. Tighten clamps as needed.
  • Winterization: Before freezing temperatures, drain all water from the heat pump and hoses. Store the unit in a dry, protected area to prevent freeze damage.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your pool heater, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Heater not turning onNo power, tripped GFCI, loose connectionCheck power outlet, reset GFCI, ensure power cord is securely plugged in.
Pool not heating sufficientlyInsufficient water flow, low ambient temperature, large pool volume, no solar coverEnsure pool pump is running and filter is clean. Consider using a solar cover. Allow more time for heating, especially in cooler weather.
Error code displayedSpecific internal issue (e.g., E3 for low water flow)Consult the specific error code in the full product manual or contact customer support. Often related to water flow; check pump and filter.
Unusual noise from unitDebris in fan, unit not levelDisconnect power and check for debris in the fan. Ensure the unit is on a stable, level surface.

If problems persist after attempting these solutions, please contact XtremepowerUS customer support.
