Setup and First Use

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the ice maker from its packaging. Remove all packing materials, tape, and any labels.
2. Placement: Place the ice maker on a firm, level surface. Ensure there is at least 15 cm (6 inches) of clear space around the appliance for adequate ventilation. Avoid placing it near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
3. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, clean the interior of the ice maker.
   • Remove the ice basket.
   • Wash the ice basket and ice scoop in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
   • Clean the interior of the water reservoir and ice collection area with a soft cloth dampened with warm water and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly by draining water through the drain plug.
   • Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth.
4. Resting Period: After transport, allow the appliance to stand upright for at least 2 hours before plugging it in. This allows the refrigerant to settle.
5. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the lid and fill the water reservoir with potable water up to the "MAX" fill line. Do not overfill.
6. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On: Press the POWER button on the control panel. The power indicator light will illuminate.
2. Ice Production Cycle: The ice maker will automatically begin the ice-making process. Water will be pumped from the reservoir to the ice-making tray, and ice cubes will form.
3. Ice Cube Size: The Sunbeam SIM-002 produces bullet-shaped ice cubes. The size is generally fixed for this model.
4. Indicator Lights:
   • ADD WATER: This light will illuminate when the water reservoir is low. Add more potable water to continue ice production.
   • ICE FULL: This light will illuminate when the ice basket is full. The ice maker will pause operation until some ice is removed.
5. Removing Ice: Use the provided ice scoop to remove ice from the basket. Do not use hands or other utensils that may damage the basket or internal components.
6. Continuous Operation: If you require a continuous supply of ice, regularly remove ice from the basket and ensure the water reservoir is filled. The appliance can produce up to 25kg of ice in 24 hours under optimal conditions.
7. Power Off: To stop ice production, press the POWER button again. The power indicator light will turn off.

Note: The first few cycles of ice may be smaller or irregular. Discard the first 2-3 batches of ice to ensure optimal performance and cleanliness.

Care and Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and efficient operation of your ice maker.

1. Daily Cleaning:
   • Unplug the ice maker.
   • Remove any remaining ice from the basket.
   • Drain any remaining water from the reservoir by removing the drain plug at the bottom.
   • Wipe the interior with a soft, clean cloth.
2. Weekly Cleaning (or as needed):
   • Prepare a solution of warm water and a small amount of mild dish soap.
   • Clean the ice basket, ice scoop, and the interior surfaces (water reservoir, ice collection area) with this solution.
   • Rinse all cleaned parts thoroughly with clean water. Ensure no soap residue remains.
   • Drain all rinse water completely.
   • Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth.
3. Descaling (Monthly or Bi-Monthly, depending on water hardness):
   • Unplug the appliance and drain all water.
   • Mix a solution of water and white vinegar (1:1 ratio) or a commercial descaling agent suitable for ice makers.
   • Pour the solution into the water reservoir up to the MAX line.
   • Plug in the appliance and run 2-3 ice-making cycles (discard the ice produced). This circulates the descaling solution.
   • Unplug, drain the solution, and rinse the reservoir thoroughly with clean water several times. Run 2-3 cycles with clean water to flush out any residue.
4. Storage: If storing the ice maker for an extended period, ensure it is thoroughly cleaned and dried. Leave the lid slightly ajar to prevent mold and mildew growth. Store in a cool, dry place.
