3. Setup

3.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the camera's internal battery using the provided USB cable and a standard 5V/2A power adapter (not included). Although the solar panel provides continuous charging, an initial full charge ensures the camera is ready for immediate use.

3.2 SIM Card and TF Card Installation

Insert the 3G/4G SIM card into the designated slot. Ensure the camera is powered off before inserting or removing the SIM card. If you plan to use local storage, insert a FAT32 formatted TF (microSD) card (up to 128GB) into the TF card slot.

GENBOLT 4G SIM card features: dedicated surveillance data, powerful 4G base chip, pre-paired SIM, and app data recharge.

3.3 App Download and Camera Pairing

  1. Download the GENBOLT CAM app from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
  2. Create an account and log in.
  3. Follow the in-app instructions to add your camera. This typically involves scanning a QR code on the camera or manually entering its ID.
  4. Ensure your phone is connected to a stable network during the pairing process.

3.4 Mounting the Camera

The camera is designed for wall mounting. Choose a location that provides the desired viewing angle and receives ample sunlight for the solar panel. Ensure the mounting surface is sturdy enough to support the camera.

  1. Attach the mounting bracket to the desired location using the provided screws and wall plugs.
  2. Secure the camera to the mounting bracket.
  3. Adjust the camera's angle to cover the desired area.

4. Operating the Camera

4.1 Live View and Pan/Tilt Control

Once connected, open the GENBOLT CAM app to access the live view. You can control the camera's pan (355° horizontal) and tilt (90° vertical) movements directly from the app to monitor a wider area.

4.2 Motion Detection and Alerts

The camera features advanced PIR and human/animal detection to minimize false alarms. When motion is detected, you will receive instant notifications on your smartphone.

4.3 Night Vision Modes

The camera supports both color night vision and infrared night vision. You can switch between modes in the app based on your preference and lighting conditions.

4.4 Two-Way Audio

Utilize the built-in microphone and speaker for two-way communication. This allows you to speak to visitors or deter unwanted guests remotely.

4.5 Recording and Storage

Recordings are stored on the inserted TF card. The camera supports intelligent loop recording, overwriting the oldest footage when the card is full. You can also access recorded events via the app.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Regularly clean the camera lens and solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to ensure clear images and efficient solar charging. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

5.2 Battery Care

To prolong battery life, ensure the solar panel is positioned to receive maximum sunlight. In prolonged periods of low light or heavy usage, consider manually charging the camera via the Type-C port.

5.3 Firmware Updates

Check the GENBOLT CAM app periodically for firmware updates. Keeping your camera's firmware up-to-date ensures you have the latest features and security enhancements.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your GENBOLT camera, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
