5. Maintenance and Care

5.1 Cleaning

Regular cleaning helps maintain efficiency and hygiene. Always unplug the refrigerator before cleaning.

  • Interior: Wash interior surfaces with a solution of mild detergent and warm water. Wipe dry with a soft cloth. Removable shelves and drawers can be washed separately.
  • Exterior: Clean the exterior with a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Door Gasket: Clean the door gasket regularly to ensure a proper seal.

5.2 Manual Defrosting

This refrigerator features manual defrost. Frost will accumulate on the freezer compartment walls. When the frost layer becomes about 1/4 inch (6 mm) thick, defrost the unit.

  1. Turn the temperature control to "0" (off) and unplug the refrigerator.
  2. Remove all food items from the freezer and refrigerator compartments. Place them in a cooler or another refrigerated space.
  3. Leave the door open to allow frost to melt naturally. You can place towels at the bottom to absorb water. Do not use sharp objects or heating devices to remove frost.
  4. Once all frost has melted, clean and dry the interior thoroughly.
  5. Plug the refrigerator back in and reset the temperature control. Allow it to cool for a few hours before returning food.

5.3 Energy Saving Tips

  • Avoid opening the door frequently or for extended periods.
  • Ensure the door gasket is clean and sealing properly.
  • Do not overload the refrigerator, as this can impede air circulation.
  • Allow hot foods to cool to room temperature before placing them in the refrigerator.
