3. Setup and Installation
3.1 Mounting Options
The BONTEC Single Monitor Desk Mount offers two installation methods: C-Clamp Mounting and Grommet Mounting. Choose the method that best suits your desk setup.

3.2 Attaching the Monitor
Once the arm is securely mounted to your desk, attach your monitor to the VESA plate. The detachable VESA plate simplifies this process.

3.3 Tension Adjustment
The gas spring tension needs to be adjusted according to your monitor's weight to ensure stable and smooth movement. If the monitor keeps tilting down, the tension is too low. If it keeps rising up, the tension is too high.

4. Operating Instructions
Once installed and adjusted, your monitor arm allows for effortless positioning:
- Height Adjustment: Gently push or pull the monitor up or down to your desired height. The gas spring will hold it in place.
- Tilt: Adjust the monitor's vertical angle (up or down) to reduce glare and optimize viewing.
- Swivel: Rotate the monitor horizontally (left or right) to share your screen or change viewing angles.
- Rotation: Rotate the monitor 360° to switch between landscape and portrait orientations.

5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your monitor arm, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Wipe the arm and base with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Periodic Checks: Periodically check all screws and connections to ensure they are tight and secure. Re-tighten if necessary.
- Gas Spring: The gas spring is designed for long-term use (30,000 cycles). If you notice a significant change in tension or movement, re-adjust the tension bolt as described in Section 3.3.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your monitor arm, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Monitor tilts down or falls. | Gas spring tension is too low for monitor weight. | Increase gas spring tension by turning the bolt counter-clockwise (refer to Section 3.3). |
| Monitor rises up or is difficult to push down. | Gas spring tension is too high for monitor weight. | Decrease gas spring tension by turning the bolt clockwise (refer to Section 3.3). |
| Arm is wobbly or unstable. | Mounting clamp/grommet is not tight enough. | Ensure the C-clamp or grommet base is securely tightened to the desk. |
| Monitor does not rotate smoothly. | Joints may be too tight or require lubrication. | Check the tightness of the rotation joints. Apply a small amount of silicone lubricant if necessary. |
