Setup
- Unboxing: Carefully remove the trash can from its packaging. Ensure all components are present: the trash can body, lid, and any included sample trash bags.
- Placement: Position the trash can on a flat, stable surface in your desired location (kitchen, office, laundry room, etc.). Ensure there is enough clearance for the lid to open fully and for the foot pedal to be operated comfortably.
- Inserting a Trash Bag:
- Open the lid using the foot pedal or by hand.
- Lift the inner rim of the trash can to expose the liner bucket.
- Place a 13-gallon trash bag (EKO Code G bags are recommended for a perfect fit) into the liner bucket, ensuring the top edge of the bag is neatly tucked under the inner rim.
- Lower the inner rim back into place, securing the trash bag.

Operating Instructions
- Opening the Lid: Gently step on the foot pedal located at the base of the trash can. The lid will open smoothly. Release the pedal to allow the lid to close softly and silently.
- Keeping the Lid Open (Movable Rim): For longer tasks or when frequently disposing of waste, the inner rim can be flipped up to keep the lid in an open position. This is useful when changing bags or during food preparation.
- Disposing of Waste: Place waste into the trash bag inside the liner bucket. Avoid overfilling to ensure the lid closes properly and to prevent tearing of the trash bag.
- Replacing the Deodorizer Filter (Optional): If using a carbon odor filter (sold separately), open the lid and locate the deodorizer compartment on the underside of the lid. Replace the filter as needed to maintain freshness.

Maintenance
- Cleaning the Exterior: The fingerprint-resistant stainless steel surface can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish. Dry thoroughly with a soft, clean cloth to prevent water spots.
- Cleaning the Interior: Periodically remove the liner bucket and wash it with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to dry completely before placing it back into the trash can.
- Lid Mechanism: The soft-close mechanism is designed for durability. Avoid forcing the lid open or closed, as this may damage the damper.
- Deodorizer Filter Replacement: Replace the carbon odor filter every 2-3 months, or more frequently depending on usage, to ensure optimal odor control.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Lid does not open when pedal is pressed. | Mechanism obstruction or damage. | Check for any debris or objects obstructing the pedal mechanism. Ensure the pedal is not bent or damaged. |
| Lid does not close softly. | Damper issue or obstruction. | Ensure nothing is blocking the lid's path. The damper mechanism may be worn; contact customer support if the issue persists. |
| Unpleasant odors persist. | Full trash bag, dirty liner, or old deodorizer filter. | Empty the trash bag. Clean the inner liner bucket thoroughly. Replace the carbon odor filter if installed and old. |
| Trash bag slips down. | Improper bag installation or incorrect bag size. | Ensure the trash bag is properly tucked under the inner rim. Use EKO Code G bags or other 13-gallon bags designed for a secure fit. |
