Setup

Assembly

1. Connect the middle shaft to the handle with armrest.
2. Attach the lower shaft to the middle shaft.
3. Secure the search coil to the lower shaft using the provided hardware.
4. Wrap the coil cable securely around the shaft, ensuring it is not too tight or loose.
5. Connect the coil cable to the control pod.

Battery Installation

The X-Terra Voyager requires 2 x 9V batteries (included). Locate the battery compartment on the control pod, insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators, and close the compartment securely.

Initial Power-On

Press and hold the power button (usually located on the side of the control pod) until the display illuminates. The detector will perform a brief self-test before becoming ready for use.

Operating

Controls Overview

The X-Terra Voyager features an intuitive control panel with a large backlit LCD screen. Key controls include:

• Power Button: Turns the detector on/off.
• Sensitivity Buttons (+/-): Adjusts the detector's sensitivity to targets.
• Search Mode Button: Cycles through different detection modes (Park, Field, Beach).
• Pinpoint Button: Activates pinpoint mode for precise target location.
• Volume Button: Adjusts audio volume.
• Backlight Button: Toggles screen backlight for low-light conditions.

Search Modes

The X-Terra Voyager offers specialized search modes for optimized performance in different environments:

• Park Mode: Ideal for high-traffic areas like parks, filtering out common trash items.
• Field Mode: Best for open fields and agricultural areas, optimized for coins and artifacts.
• Beach Mode: Designed for wet and dry sand conditions, with settings to handle saltwater interference.

Sensitivity Adjustment

Adjusting sensitivity is crucial for optimal performance. Increase sensitivity in areas with less interference and decrease it in noisy environments. Use the + and - buttons to adjust the sensitivity level displayed on the screen.

Noise Cancel

If you experience excessive false signals or chatter, perform a noise cancel operation. This helps eliminate electromagnetic interference from external sources. Refer to the Getting Started video in the Setup section for detailed steps.

Pinpoint Mode

Once a target is detected, activate pinpoint mode by pressing the dedicated button. This mode helps you narrow down the exact location of the buried object for easier recovery.

Target Identification (ID)

The X-Terra Voyager provides distinct audio tones and a Target ID number on the display to help you identify the type of metal detected before digging. Higher numbers generally indicate more conductive metals (e.g., silver, copper), while lower numbers indicate less conductive metals (e.g., iron).

Waterproof Use

The X-Terra Voyager features an IP68 rated waterproof coil, allowing it to be submerged up to 3.3 feet (1 meter). This makes it suitable for detecting in shallow water, streams, and wet sand conditions.

Maintenance

Cleaning

• After each use, wipe down the detector with a damp cloth to remove dirt, sand, or salt residue.
• Ensure the coil and cable connections are clean and dry before storage.
• Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents on any part of the detector.

Battery Care and Storage

• Remove batteries if the detector will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
• Store the detector in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Use the provided backpack for safe and convenient transport and storage.
