The Strobe II helmet meets or exceeds the following safety standards:

  • ECE 22.06: European safety standard for motorcycle helmets, including rotational energy management.
  • DOT FMVSS 218: US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 218.

2.2 Important Safety Warnings

Proposition 65 Warning: This product may contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information, visit www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.

Always wear a properly fitted and fastened helmet when riding. Never modify your helmet, as this can compromise its protective capabilities. Replace your helmet after any impact, even if visible damage is not apparent.

3. Setup and Fitting

3.1 Sizing Your Helmet

To ensure optimal safety and comfort, it is crucial to select the correct helmet size. Follow these steps to measure your head circumference:

  1. Locate Your Measuring Tool: Use a flexible measuring tape. If unavailable, a piece of string and a straight ruler can be used.
  2. Measure Your Head: Wrap the measuring tool around your head, positioning it just above your eyebrows. If using string, mark the point where it overlaps, then measure the string with a ruler. A flexible measuring tape is the most accurate method.

3.2 Proper Helmet Fit

A properly fitted helmet should feel snug around your entire head, with no pressure points. The cheek pads should make firm contact with your cheeks. When you try to move the helmet from side to side or up and down, your skin should move with it, indicating a secure fit. The helmet should not move independently of your head.

4. Operating Your Helmet

4.1 Modular Chin Bar Operation

The Strobe II features a modular chin bar that can be raised or lowered. To raise the chin bar, locate the release mechanism (typically a button or lever at the front center of the chin bar) and activate it while lifting the chin bar upwards until it locks into the open position. To lower, press the release mechanism again and gently push the chin bar down until it securely latches into the closed position. Ensure it is fully latched before riding.

4.2 Integrated Sun Shield

This helmet includes a built-in, drop-down sun shield. A slider mechanism, usually located on the side or bottom edge of the helmet, controls the sun shield. Slide the lever forward to deploy the sun shield and backward to retract it. This feature is useful for adapting to changing light conditions without needing to change visors.

4.3 Ventilation System

The Strobe II is equipped with a multi-ventilation system to enhance airflow and rider comfort. Vents are typically located on the chin bar and top of the helmet. Open or close these vents using the integrated sliders or switches to adjust the internal airflow according to your preference and riding conditions.

4.4 Quick Release Chin Strap

The helmet features a quick-release chin strap for easy fastening and removal. To fasten, insert the male end into the female buckle until it clicks securely. To release, press the designated button or pull the lever on the buckle. Always ensure the chin strap is securely fastened and adjusted snugly under your chin before riding.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Exterior

Clean the helmet's exterior shell with a soft cloth, warm water, and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or solvents, as these can damage the helmet's finish and materials. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft, clean cloth.

5.2 Cleaning the Interior Liner

The interior comfort liner of the Strobe II is removable and washable. Carefully detach the liner components according to the instructions provided in the full product manual (if available). Hand wash with mild soap and cool water, then air dry completely before reinserting into the helmet. Ensure all components are dry to prevent mildew.

5.3 Visor Care

Clean the clear outer visor and internal sun shield with warm water and a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive materials or chemical cleaners. The main visor is Pinlock-ready (Pinlock insert sold separately), which can help prevent fogging. Follow Pinlock manufacturer instructions for installation and care.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Visor Fogging

If your visor fogs up, ensure all vents are open to maximize airflow. Consider installing a Pinlock anti-fog insert (sold separately) on the main visor for enhanced fog resistance, especially in cold or humid conditions.

6.2 Improper Fit

If the helmet feels too loose or too tight, re-verify your head measurement against the sizing chart. An ill-fitting helmet compromises safety and comfort. If the fit is incorrect, consider exchanging for a different size.
