4. Setup
4.1 Unpacking
- Remove all packaging materials from inside and outside the microwave oven.
- Check the oven for any damage, such as a misaligned or bent door, damaged door seals and sealing surface, broken or loose door hinges and latches, or dents inside the cavity or on the door. If there is any damage, do not operate the oven and contact Kenmore customer service.
4.2 Placement
- Place the microwave oven on a flat, stable surface that can support its weight and the heaviest food likely to be cooked in the oven.
- Ensure adequate ventilation. Leave a minimum of 3 inches (7.5 cm) of space on the top, sides, and back of the oven for proper airflow.
- Do not block air vents.
- Keep the microwave away from heat sources and water.

4.3 Power Connection
- Plug the power cord into a standard 120V, 60Hz, AC only electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is properly grounded.
- Do not use extension cords or adapters.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Setting the Clock
- Press the "Clock" button once.
- Use the number pad to enter the current time (e.g., 1-2-3-0 for 12:30).
- Press "Clock" again to confirm.
5.2 Basic Cooking (Time Cook)
- Place food in the microwave-safe dish and put it on the turntable. Close the door.

5.6 Defrosting

Time Defrost

Weight Defrost

To Activate:

To Deactivate:
- Press and hold the "Stop" button for 3 seconds again. The lock indicator will disappear.
5.8 Kitchen Timer
The Kitchen Timer functions independently of the microwave cooking functions.
- Press the "Kitchen Timer" button.
- Enter the desired time using the number pad.
