1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Moongiantgo JLZ 143 Weather Station. This device is designed for comprehensive outdoor weather monitoring, providing accurate data on various environmental parameters.
2. Product Overview
The Moongiantgo JLZ 143 Weather Station is a compact and lightweight system that measures key weather data. It consists of an outdoor sensor unit and an indoor display console. The outdoor sensor unit is equipped with a solar panel for power and measures wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity, rainfall, UV index, and illuminance. The indoor console displays this data in real-time and supports WIFI connectivity for data upload to dedicated websites for graphical analysis.

Figure 2.1: Indoor Display Console. This image shows the indoor display console, which presents outdoor temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, rainfall, UV index, illuminance, and barometric pressure. It also shows indoor temperature and humidity.

4. Setup
4.1 Powering the Console
The indoor display console can be powered by the included AC adapter or by 3 AAA batteries (not included). Using the AC adapter ensures the display remains continuously lit. If using batteries, the display may dim or turn off to conserve power.

Figure 4.1: Power Supply. This image shows the power options for the console (AC adapter or 3 AAA batteries), the thermo-hygrometer sensor (2 AAA batteries), and the weather sensor (solar panel or 3 AA batteries).
4.2 Installing the Outdoor Sensor Unit
The outdoor sensor unit is designed for easy installation. It can be mounted horizontally or vertically on a flat surface or pipe. Ensure the unit is placed in an open area, away from obstructions, to allow for accurate wind and rain measurements. The integrated solar panel will power the sensor, but it also requires 3 AA batteries (not included) as a backup.

Figure 4.2: Outdoor Sensor Installation. This image details the outdoor sensor unit, showing its components (level, UV/illuminance sensor, wind cups, solar panel, wind vane, rain gauge, thermo-hygrometer/radiation shield) and two installation methods: horizontal and vertical mounting.
4.3 Initial Synchronization
After powering both the console and the outdoor sensor, they should automatically synchronize. If synchronization does not occur, refer to the troubleshooting section.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Display Overview
The console features a large, easy-to-read display that shows various weather parameters. These include outdoor temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, rainfall, UV index, illuminance, barometric pressure, and indoor temperature/humidity.

Figure 5.1: Console Display Information. This diagram highlights the various weather data points shown on the console, including outdoor temperature, indoor humidity, rainfall, indoor temperature/humidity, weather forecast, UV index, illuminance, moon phase, wind direction, perceived temperature, wind speed, barometric pressure, sensor temperature, and heat index.
5.2 Button Functions
The console has several buttons for setting and navigating the display:
- SET/MODE: Used to enter settings mode and cycle through display modes.
- ALARM: Activates or deactivates the alarm function and sets alarm parameters.
- CHANNEL +/-: Used to switch between different sensor channels (if multiple sensors are connected) or adjust values during settings.
- SNOOZE: Silences the alarm temporarily.

6. WIFI Connectivity
The weather station supports 2.4GHz WIFI connectivity. This feature allows you to upload your weather data to dedicated online platforms like Weather Underground or Weathercloud for detailed analysis and historical tracking. Data can be viewed in graphical format on these websites or through their respective applications.

Figure 6.1: WIFI Connection. This image illustrates the WIFI connectivity feature, showing the weather station console wirelessly connected to a router, with weather data accessible on a computer and mobile device through Weather Underground and Weathercloud platforms.
6.1 Connecting to WIFI
- Ensure your console is powered on.
- Press and hold the "Min/Max" button until the WIFI icon on the display starts flashing.
- Follow the instructions in the dedicated app or website to complete the connection process.
7. Alarm Function
The weather station includes an alarm function that allows you to set upper and lower limits for various weather parameters such as temperature, humidity, wind speed, and rainfall. When a measured value exceeds or falls below your set limits, an icon on the display will flash, and an audible alarm will sound to alert you.
7.1 Setting Alarms
- Press the "ALARM" button to enter alarm setting mode.
- Use the "CHANNEL +/-" buttons to select the parameter you wish to set an alarm for (e.g., temperature, humidity).
- Press "SET/MODE" to confirm your selection and then use "CHANNEL +/-" to adjust the upper or lower limit.
- Repeat for other parameters as needed.
- Press "ALARM" again to exit alarm setting mode.
8. Weather Forecast
The weather station provides a 24-48 hour weather forecast based on changes in barometric pressure. The display will show icons representing various weather conditions such as sunny, partly cloudy, cloudy, and rainy.

Figure 8.1: 24-48 Hour Weather Forecast. This image shows the weather forecast feature, displaying icons for sunny, partly cloudy, cloudy, and rainy conditions, indicating the station's ability to predict weather trends based on atmospheric pressure changes.
9. Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your weather station, regular maintenance is recommended.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the outdoor sensor unit, especially the rain collector and solar panel, to remove dirt, debris, or insects that may affect accuracy. Use a soft, damp cloth.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in the indoor console and outdoor sensor unit as needed. Low battery indicators will appear on the display.
- Sensor Placement: Ensure the outdoor sensor remains securely mounted and free from new obstructions (e.g., growing foliage) that could interfere with measurements.
