6. Setup & Installation
Follow these steps for a secure and stable installation of your VEVOR handrail.
6.1. Preparation
- Unpack all components and verify against the package contents list.
- Choose your desired location for the handrail, ensuring it provides adequate support and clearance.
- Gather necessary tools: pencil, drill (with 0.39" / 10mm masonry bit for concrete or appropriate wood drill bit), hammer, and the included spanner and hex keys.
6.2. Marking and Drilling
- Position the handrail base plates on the desired mounting surface.
- Using a pencil, mark the exact locations for drilling through the pre-drilled holes in the base plates.
- Drill holes at the marked positions. For concrete or masonry, use a 0.39" (10mm) diameter drill bit. For wood, use an appropriate wood drill bit. Ensure the depth is sufficient for the expansion or wood screws.
6.3. Mounting the Handrail
- Align the handrail base plates with the drilled holes.
- For concrete/masonry: Insert the expansion screws into the drilled holes and tighten them securely using the included spanner.
- For wooden surfaces: Insert the wood screws into the drilled holes and tighten them securely.
- Place the decorative base trim covers over the fasteners at the bottom of each post for a finished appearance.

6.4. Angle Adjustment
The handrail features adjustable pivot points to accommodate different stair angles. Use the provided hex keys to loosen the bolts at the pivot points, adjust the handrail to the desired angle, and then securely re-tighten the bolts.

7. Operation
Once securely installed, the VEVOR handrail provides stable support for ascending and descending steps. Always maintain a firm grip on the handrail for maximum safety.
8. Maintenance
- Regular Cleaning: Clean the handrail periodically with a mild soap and water solution. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the powder coating.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect all mounting points and fasteners to ensure they remain tight. Re-tighten any loose bolts or screws immediately.
- Paint Touch-up: While the powder coating is durable, minor scratches or chips may occur over time. Use a rust-inhibiting outdoor paint for touch-ups to prevent corrosion.
- Drainage: To prevent water accumulation and potential rust inside the posts, consider drilling a small drain hole (e.g., 1/4 inch) at the very bottom of each post if not already present.
9. Troubleshooting
- Handrail feels wobbly: Ensure all mounting bolts and screws are fully tightened. Verify the mounting surface is solid and not compromised.
- Difficulty adjusting angle: Loosen the pivot point bolts sufficiently before attempting to adjust the angle. Do not force the adjustment.
- Cosmetic imperfections: Minor scratches or chips can be touched up with appropriate outdoor paint.
