Setup Guide
1. Charging the Battery
- Connect the supplied Type-C cable to the microphone's charging port and a USB power source (e.g., computer, USB wall adapter).
- The OLED screen will indicate charging status. A full charge typically takes approximately 2 hours.
2. Inserting a MicroSD Card
- Locate the MicroSD card slot on the side of the microphone (TX unit).
- Gently insert a V30 MicroSD card with the contacts facing down until it clicks into place.
- To remove, push the card in again until it springs out.
3. Mounting the Microphone
- Attach the IVM-S3 to your camera's cold shoe mount or a compatible rig using the integrated 1/4" universal cold shoe mount.
- Ensure the microphone is securely fastened to prevent accidental detachment.
4. Connecting to Devices
- For Cameras: Use the supplied 3.5mm TRS-TRS audio connect cable. Plug one end into the microphone's output port and the other into your camera's microphone input.
- For Smartphones/Tablets: Use the supplied 3.5mm TRS-TRRS audio connect cable. Plug one end into the microphone's output port and the other into your smart device's headphone/microphone jack. (Note: Some newer smartphones may require a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter, not included).
Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off
- To power on, press and hold the power button until the OLED screen illuminates.
- To power off, press and hold the power button until the screen turns off.
2. Adjusting Pickup Angle
- Manually adjust the two microphone arms to your desired angle (0°, 60°, 90°, or 180°).
- For focused front audio, set to 0°. For wider stereo, use 60° or 90°. For bidirectional recording (e.g., interviews), use 180°.
3. Using the Low Cut Filter
- Press the dedicated Low Cut button to activate or deactivate the filter.
- When active, the filter reduces low-frequency noise below 150Hz, such as wind rumble or air conditioner hum.
4. Adjusting Gain Control
- Rotate the stepless gain knob to adjust the audio input level from 0dB to 10dB.
- Monitor the audio levels on the OLED screen and through headphones to prevent clipping or excessively low volume.
5. Internal Recording
- Ensure a MicroSD card is inserted.
- Press the 'REC' button to start recording. The recording indicator on the screen will confirm.
- Press 'REC' again to stop recording. Files are saved automatically to the MicroSD card.
6. Real-time Monitoring
- Plug headphones into the 3.5mm headphone jack on the microphone.
- Listen to the audio being captured in real-time to ensure proper levels and sound quality.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the microphone's exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the microphone in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
