Accessory Usage

Maintenance
Cleaning
After use, especially in water or dusty environments, rinse the camera with fresh water and dry thoroughly with a soft, lint-free cloth. Use the provided microfiber cloth to gently clean the lens and screens. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
Battery Care
To maximize battery life, store batteries in a cool, dry place. For long-term storage, charge batteries to approximately 50%. The HERO12 Black offers extended battery life, up to 2.5 hours in lower settings, and around 90 minutes at 5.3K/30FPS with the included Enduro battery.
Storage
When not in use, store your GoPro HERO12 Black in its protective carrying case to prevent scratches and damage. Keep it away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions
- Camera Overheating: The HERO12 Black is a high-performance device and may generate heat during extended recording, especially in high resolutions (e.g., 5.3K) or warm environments. To mitigate overheating, try reducing the video resolution, turning off Wi-Fi/Bluetooth when not needed, or ensuring adequate airflow around the camera.
- Short Battery Life: While the HERO12 Black offers improved battery performance, continuous high-resolution recording or use of features like Wi-Fi can drain the battery faster. Ensure batteries are fully charged before use. Consider carrying spare batteries for extended sessions.
- Camera Not Responding: If the camera becomes unresponsive, try removing and reinserting the battery. If the issue persists, perform a factory reset (refer to the GoPro app or official support for instructions).
- Image/Video Quality Issues: Ensure your lens is clean and free from smudges. Use a high-speed, reputable brand microSD card. Check your camera settings to ensure they are appropriate for your shooting conditions.
