2. Offline Clone Function

The offline clone function allows you to duplicate a source drive to one or more target drives without a computer connection. Important: Ensure each target drive's capacity is equal to or greater than the source drive's capacity. Back up any existing data on the target drives before cloning to prevent data loss.

Maintenance

Troubleshooting

Issue: Drives are not detected by the computer.
  • Ensure the docking station is powered on and the USB cable is securely connected to both the docking station and the computer.
  • Try a different USB port on your computer.
  • Verify that the hard drives are properly seated in their bays.
  • For new drives, check Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (macOS) to see if they need to be initialized and formatted.
  • Test with a different USB cable if available.
Issue: Offline cloning fails or does not start.
  • Ensure the docking station is disconnected from the computer (no USB cable connected).
  • Verify that the source drive is in the "Source A" bay and target drives are in the "Target B/C/D/E" bays.
  • Confirm that each target drive's capacity is equal to or greater than the source drive's capacity.
  • Double-press the "Clone" button firmly. Listen for the three beeps indicating cloning mode activation.
  • If an error beep occurs, check the drives for issues or try different drives.
Issue: Slow data transfer speeds.
  • Ensure you are using a USB 3.1 compatible port on your computer.
  • Verify that the USB cable is rated for USB 3.1 speeds.
  • The actual speed can be affected by the performance of the hard drives themselves.
  • Avoid transferring many small files simultaneously, as this can reduce overall transfer rates.
