Setup

1. Unpacking

Carefully remove the safe from its packaging. Inspect the safe for any signs of damage. Report any damage to customer service immediately.

2. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the inside of the safe door.
  2. Insert the 4 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover.

3. Mounting the Safe

The safe is designed for floor or wall mounting to enhance security and prevent tipping. Pre-drilled holes are located on the back and bottom of the safe.

  1. Choose a suitable location for the safe, ensuring it is level and stable.
  2. Mark the drilling points on the wall or floor using the pre-drilled holes as a template.
  3. Drill pilot holes at the marked locations.
  4. Position the safe and secure it using the provided anchor bolts. Ensure all bolts are tightened firmly.

4. Installing Internal Components

  • Removable Storage Shelf: The shelf can be installed if your rifles are less than 42 inches long. Position it at the desired height.
  • Movable Gun Racks: Adjust the two movable gun racks to accommodate your long guns flexibly.
  • Pistol Pockets: Utilize the three pistol pockets on the door for handgun storage.

Operating Instructions

1. Initial Access (Using Keys)

Before setting up the digital passcode, use one of the provided spare keys to open the safe. Insert the key into the keyhole, turn it, and then turn the handle to open the door.

2. Setting Up Your Digital Passcode

  1. With the safe door open, locate the reset button on the inside of the door.
  2. Press the reset button. The keypad will beep, indicating it is ready for programming.
  3. Enter your desired passcode (3-8 digits) on the digital keypad.
  4. Press the "#" or "OK" button to confirm. The safe will beep again to confirm the new passcode.
  5. Test the new passcode with the door open before closing it.

3. Opening the Safe

There are multiple ways to access your safe:

  • Digital Passcode: Enter your programmed passcode on the keypad, then press "#" or "OK". Turn the handle to open.
  • Spare Key: Insert the key into the keyhole, turn it, and then turn the handle.
  • External Battery Pack (Emergency Access): If internal batteries are low or dead, connect the external battery pack to the port on the keypad. Then, enter your digital passcode as usual.

4. Closing and Locking the Safe

Close the safe door firmly. Turn the handle to engage the lockbolts. The safe will automatically lock.

5. Silent Mode Activation

To operate the safe without audible beeps, you can activate silent mode. Refer to the specific instructions provided in the included paper manual for the exact key sequence to enable/disable silent mode.

6. Smart Alarm System

The safe is equipped with a smart alarm system. If an incorrect passcode is entered 3 times consecutively, the safe will beep and the keypad will be locked for a period, deterring unauthorized access.

Maintenance

1. Battery Replacement

Replace the 4 AA batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the keypad or if the keypad becomes unresponsive. Use the external battery pack for emergency access if the internal batteries are completely drained.

2. Cleaning

Clean the exterior of the safe with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.

3. Regular Checks

Periodically check the mounting bolts to ensure they remain tight. Verify the lock mechanism operates smoothly and that the door seals properly.

Troubleshooting

  • Safe will not open with passcode:
      - Ensure batteries are not low. Use the external battery pack if needed.
      - Re-enter the passcode carefully. If you suspect the passcode is incorrect, use the spare key.
      - If the keypad is locked due to multiple incorrect entries, wait for the lockout period to expire.
  • Keypad is unresponsive:
      - Replace the batteries.
      - Ensure the battery compartment is securely closed.
  • Door does not close properly:
      - Check for any obstructions preventing the door from fully closing.
      - Ensure the safe is on a level surface and not warped.
  • Alarm sounds unexpectedly:
      - This may indicate tampering or incorrect passcode attempts. Review recent access attempts.
