1. Introduction
The Zuomeng Septic Pump Alarm (Model ZM-006) is designed to provide reliable high water level detection for sewage pits, septic tanks, sump pumps, water tanks, and lift stations. This system alerts you to rising water levels through an audible alarm and a flashing light, helping to prevent potential flood damage to your property. It can also be configured to activate an external submersible pump for drainage.
This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe installation, operation, and maintenance of your Zuomeng Septic Pump Alarm.

2. Safety Information
Please read all safety instructions carefully before installation and operation. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.
- Electrical Safety: Ensure all power is disconnected before performing any installation or maintenance. All wiring should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with local electrical codes.
- UL Certified Components: The wiring and circuit breaker are UL certified, ensuring compliance with international safety standards.
- Weatherproof Casing: The alarm unit features an IP67-rated weatherproof casing, suitable for both indoor and harsh outdoor conditions. However, ensure the casing is properly sealed after any internal access.
- Pump Overload Protection: If connecting an external pump, ensure the pump has internal overload protection.
- Children and Pets: Keep the alarm unit and its components out of reach of children and pets.
3. Setup & Installation
The Zuomeng Septic Pump Alarm is designed for quick installation with pre-wiring in its internal design. It is suitable for wall mounting.
3.1 Components
- Alarm Control Panel (main unit with flashing light and audible alarm)
- Float Switch (for water level detection)
- Mounting hardware (e.g., clamps)
3.2 Mounting the Alarm Unit
Select a suitable location for the alarm control panel. It should be easily accessible for visual and audible alerts, and protected from direct impact. The unit is wall-mountable. Secure the unit firmly to a stable surface using appropriate fasteners.

3.3 Float Switch Installation
Install the float switch at the desired high water level in your sewage pit, septic tank, or sump. Ensure the float switch has sufficient clearance to move freely and activate when the water level reaches the alert point. The float switch cable should be routed securely to the alarm control panel.
3.4 Electrical Connections
The alarm system features separated pump and alarm circuits. The unit comes pre-wired internally for ease of installation.
- Power Connection: Connect the alarm control panel to a 120V power source.
- Float Switch Connection: Connect the float switch wires to the designated terminals within the control panel.
- External Pump Connection (Optional): If you intend to use the alarm to activate an external submersible pump, connect the pump's power circuit to the designated terminals in the control panel. Refer to the circuit diagram for correct wiring. Ensure the pump has its own internal overload protection.

4. Operation
4.1 Powering On
Once all connections are secure and verified, restore power to the alarm unit. The unit will enter standby mode.
4.2 High Water Level Detection
When the water level rises and activates the float switch, the alarm control panel will initiate an alert:
- An audible alarm will sound at 110 decibels.
- A bright warning light will flash.
If an external submersible pump is connected and configured, it will automatically activate to begin drainage.

Figure 5: The alarm features a 110-decibel siren and a bright flashing light for effective alerts.
4.3 Test Function
The alarm unit includes a test switch. To test the alarm, activate the test switch. This will simulate a high water event, triggering the audible alarm and flashing light. This function allows you to verify the system's operational status without needing to raise the water level.
4.4 Mute Function
The alarm can be temporarily muted after activation. Refer to the control panel's specific switch or button for muting the audible alarm. The visual alarm (flashing light) typically continues until the water level drops below the float switch activation point.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the reliable operation of your Zuomeng Septic Pump Alarm.
- Regular Testing: Periodically use the test function to ensure the alarm and light are working correctly. It is recommended to test the system monthly.
- Float Switch Inspection: Annually inspect the float switch for any debris, corrosion, or damage that might impede its movement. Clean the float switch and its cable if necessary.
- Casing Inspection: Check the alarm unit's IP67 casing for any cracks or damage that could compromise its weatherproof seal. Ensure all latches are securely closed.
- Wiring Check: Periodically inspect all electrical connections for tightness and signs of wear or corrosion. Ensure all wiring is intact and properly insulated.
- Cleaning: Keep the exterior of the alarm unit clean. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe away dust or dirt. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
