1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Prisual PTZ Camera Controller, model TEM-JOY1. This controller is designed for precise management of PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) cameras in various professional environments, including live streaming, education, and conference settings.
The TEM-JOY1 offers versatile control capabilities, supporting multiple communication protocols and connectivity options to integrate seamlessly into your existing camera systems.
2. Key Features
- Multi-Camera Control: Manage up to 256 PTZ cameras with efficiency. Includes a 6-camera quick select feature for rapid switching.
- Precise Control: Intuitive controls for Pan, Tilt, Zoom, Focus, Iris, Backlight, and adjustable PTZ speeds. Features 255 presets and 10 quick-access options for camera positions.
- Advanced IP Technology: Supports comprehensive protocols including VISCA (fully compatible and extensible), Pelco-D/P, RS422, and RS232. Facilitates easy discovery, connection, and control of PTZ cameras via IP.
- Simplified Setup with PoE: Supports Ethernet IP connections, allowing control of IP streaming PTZ cameras with a single network cable. Power over Ethernet (PoE) support enables powering the controller and cameras via a single Cat5/6 cable, reducing cable clutter.
- User-Friendly Operation: Offers both network and analog control modes with independent IP addresses in network mode. A built-in web server provides a clear configuration interface for easy setup.
- Auto-Tracking Compatibility: Compatible with Prisual Auto Tracking cameras and most major brands (requires firmware v5.4.3 or later).
- Quick IP Camera Setup: Features auto-search and manual add options for IP cameras, with easy camera ID assignment.
3. Initial Setup
3.1. Physical Connections
Before powering on the device, ensure all necessary connections are made securely.
- Power: Connect the provided power adapter to the DC 12V input port. Alternatively, if using PoE, connect an Ethernet cable from a PoE-enabled switch to the RJ45 port.
- Network (PoE/IP Control): For IP control and PoE power, connect an Ethernet cable from your network switch to the RJ45 port on the controller. This single cable can provide both power and data for IP-based PTZ camera control.
- Serial (RS232/RS485): For analog control, connect your PTZ camera(s) using RS232 (8-pin Mini DIN) or RS485/RS422 (2-pin Phoenix Port) cables as required by your camera model.
- USB: The USB port is available for firmware upgrades.

3.2. Adding PTZ Cameras
The controller supports both auto-search and manual addition of IP cameras.
- Press the SETUP button on the controller.
- Navigate to the "Add Network Device" option.
- Choose between "Auto Search" to automatically detect cameras on your network or "Manual Add" to enter camera details (IP address, protocol, port) manually.
- Confirm the camera addition by pressing ENTER.
