Controls and Indicators:

Setup
The V310 scanner is designed for simple plug-and-play operation. No batteries or external power supply are required as it draws power directly from your vehicle's OBDII Data Link Connector (DLC).
Initial Connection:
- Locate your vehicle's 16-pin OBDII DLC. This port is typically located under the dashboard on the driver's side. Refer to your vehicle's owner's manual if you cannot find it.
- Ensure your vehicle's ignition is in the 'OFF' position.
- Firmly plug the V310 scanner's OBDII connector into the vehicle's DLC.
- Turn your vehicle's ignition to the 'ON' position (engine can be off or running, depending on the test). The scanner will power on automatically.
Language Settings:
The V310 supports multiple languages. You can change the display language through the system settings.

- Read Codes: Retrieves Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the vehicle's computer. These codes indicate specific issues detected by the vehicle's onboard diagnostic system.
- Erase Codes: Clears all DTCs from the vehicle's computer and turns off the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL), also known as the 'Check Engine' light. Note: Clearing codes does not fix the underlying problem. Ensure the issue is resolved before clearing codes to prevent recurrence.
- I/M Readiness: Checks the readiness of the emission monitoring systems. This function is useful for determining if the vehicle is ready for an emissions test.
- Vehicle Info: Displays vehicle information such as Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), Calibration ID (CALID), and Calibration Verification Number (CVN).
- Data Stream: Shows real-time live data from the vehicle's sensors. This includes parameters such as:

No Power:

- Try on Another Vehicle: If possible, test the scanner on a different OBDII-compliant vehicle to rule out a scanner malfunction.
Screen is Blank or Frozen:
- Restart Scanner: Disconnect the scanner from the vehicle, wait a few seconds, and then reconnect it.
- Contrast Adjustment: The V310 has contrast adjustment. Navigate to 'System Setup' and adjust 'Contrast' if the screen is too dim or too bright.
