Product Components

Familiarize yourself with the main parts of the submersible pump:

  • Pump Body: The main housing of the motor and impeller.
  • Adjustable Air Regulator: Controls the amount of air drawn into the pump for aeration.
  • Inlet Strainer: Prevents large debris from entering the pump, protecting the impeller.
  • Impeller: The rotating component that moves water.

Setup Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pump: Ensure the pump and all its components are clean and free from any packaging materials.
  2. Attach Inlet Strainer: Securely attach the inlet strainer to the pump's water intake.
  3. Connect Hoses/Air Tube: Depending on your desired function (filtration, aeration, wave making), connect the appropriate hose or the air tube to the pump's outlet(s). For aeration, connect the air tube to the adjustable air regulator and position the regulator above the water surface.
  4. Mount the Pump: Attach the suction cups to the pump locator. Submerge the pump completely in the aquarium water and press the suction cups firmly against the inside of the aquarium glass to secure it in the desired position. Ensure the pump is fully submerged before operation.
  5. Positioning: Place the pump in an area that allows for optimal water circulation and avoids direct obstruction from decorations or substrate.
  6. Power Connection: Once the pump is securely installed and fully submerged, connect the power plug to a suitable electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

After proper installation, the pump is ready for operation.

  • Power On: Plug the pump into an electrical outlet. The pump will start immediately.
  • Aeration: If the air tube is connected, adjust the air regulator to control the amount of air bubbles released into the water. More air will increase oxygenation.
  • Circulation: The pump continuously circulates water, helping to distribute heat and nutrients, and preventing stagnant areas.
  • Wave Making: The strong water flow can create gentle currents or waves, beneficial for certain aquatic environments.
  • Power Off: To stop the pump, simply unplug it from the electrical outlet.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your pump. Always unplug the pump from the power source before performing any maintenance.

  1. Cleaning the Inlet Strainer: Periodically remove the inlet strainer and rinse it under clean water to remove accumulated debris. This prevents clogging and maintains flow rate.
  2. Cleaning the Impeller:
    • Carefully detach the pump from the aquarium.
    • Remove the impeller cover.
    • Gently pull out the impeller assembly.
    • Clean the impeller and its shaft with a small brush or cotton swab to remove any algae, mineral deposits, or debris.
    • Rinse all parts thoroughly with clean water.
    • Reassemble the impeller, impeller cover, and inlet strainer, ensuring all parts fit securely.
  3. Cleaning the Pump Body: Wipe down the exterior of the pump body with a soft cloth to remove any residue.
  4. Check Hoses/Tubes: Inspect any connected hoses or air tubes for blockages or damage. Clean or replace as necessary.
