Setup and Installation
This downlight is designed for recessed installation. Ensure you have the necessary tools and that power is disconnected before beginning.
Required Tools (Not Included):
- Wire strippers
- Screwdriver
- Hole saw (appropriate size for fixture)
- Safety glasses
Installation Steps:
- Turn off Power: Locate the circuit breaker controlling the installation area and turn off the power. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
- Prepare Opening: Cut a circular hole in the ceiling at the desired location. Refer to the fixture's dimensions (7.17" diameter) for the correct hole size.
- Connect Wiring: Open the junction box cover on the downlight. Connect the house wiring (live, neutral, ground) to the corresponding wires inside the fixture's junction box using appropriate wire connectors. Ensure all connections are secure.
- Secure Junction Box: Close the junction box cover. Place the junction box into the ceiling opening.
- Install Downlight: Push the spring clips on the sides of the downlight upwards and insert the fixture into the ceiling opening. The clips will spring back down to hold the fixture securely in place against the ceiling.
- Restore Power: Once the fixture is securely installed, restore power at the circuit breaker.

1. Download the STARFISH App:
- Download the "STARFISH" app from your mobile device's app store (iOS or Android).
- Create an account or log in.
2. Pair the Downlight:
- Ensure your mobile device is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Turn on the downlight. The light should begin to blink, indicating it's in pairing mode. If not, cycle the power off and on several times until it blinks.
- Open the STARFISH app and follow the on-screen instructions to add a new device.
- Select your downlight from the list of discoverable devices.
3. Control Features:
- Color Temperature: Adjust the white light from 2000K (warm white) to 5000K (natural light) using the app's color temperature slider.
- RGB Color: Select from millions of colors on the RGB spectrum to create custom ambiance.
