4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your abask A8pro Dash Cam:

1. Insert SD Card: Before mounting, ensure the provided 64GB Micro SD card is inserted into the main dash cam unit.
2. Mount the Front Dash Cam: Attach the suction cup mount to the main dash cam unit. Clean the desired area on your windshield thoroughly to ensure a strong suction. Press the suction cup firmly against the windshield and lock it into place. Position the camera to ensure a clear view of the road ahead without obstructing your driving view.
3. Connect Power: Plug the car charger into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket. Connect the USB-C end of the charger cable to the main dash cam unit. Route the cable neatly along the edge of the windshield and dashboard using the provided cable clips to avoid interference with driving.
4. Install Rear Camera: The rear camera can be installed either inside the rear window or externally near the license plate. Route the rear camera cable from the main unit to the rear of the vehicle. For external installation, connect the red wire of the rear camera cable to your car's reverse light positive pole for automatic parking assistance display. Secure the camera using screws or double-sided adhesive tape.
5. Adjust Camera Angles: Once mounted, adjust the angles of the front, interior, and rear cameras to ensure optimal coverage. The main unit allows for 90-degree rotation for both the front and interior cameras.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

• The dash cam will automatically power on and begin recording when your vehicle's ignition is turned on and power is supplied to the cigarette lighter socket.
• It will automatically power off and save the last recording when the ignition is turned off.

5.2 Basic Recording

• Loop Recording: The dash cam records video in continuous loops (e.g., 1, 3, or 5-minute segments). When the SD card is full, it automatically overwrites the oldest unlocked files.
• Manual Lock: During recording, press the 'Lock' button (if available on the device or via app) to manually lock the current video segment, preventing it from being overwritten.

5.3 G-Sensor (Emergency Recording)

• The built-in G-sensor detects sudden impacts or collisions. When triggered, it automatically locks the current video footage (before, during, and after the event) to a separate folder on the SD card, ensuring it is not overwritten by loop recording.
• Sensitivity of the G-sensor can usually be adjusted in the settings menu to prevent false triggers from bumps or rough roads.

5.4 Parking Monitor

• To enable 24-hour parking monitoring, the dash cam requires a continuous power supply, typically achieved through a hardwire kit (not included).
• In parking mode, the dash cam will automatically start recording if it detects a vibration or collision, even when the vehicle is off.

5.5 Wi-Fi and App Connection

• Download the dedicated abask app (check user manual for specific app name) from your smartphone's app store (Google Play Store or Apple App Store).
• Turn on Wi-Fi on the dash cam (usually via the menu).
• Connect your smartphone to the dash cam's Wi-Fi network (SSID and password typically displayed on the dash cam screen).
• Through the app, you can view live footage, playback recorded videos, download files to your phone, and adjust camera settings.

5.6 GPS Tracking

• The integrated GPS module automatically records your vehicle's speed, location, and driving route.
• This data can be viewed during video playback on the dash cam or through the dedicated app/PC viewer software, providing a complete record of your journey.

6. Maintenance

• SD Card Formatting: It is recommended to format the Micro SD card regularly (e.g., once a month) to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Format the card directly through the dash cam's menu.
• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the dash cam's lens and screen. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the device.
• Temperature: Avoid exposing the dash cam to extreme temperatures for prolonged periods. While the supercapacitor offers better temperature resistance than batteries, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight in a hot car can still affect its lifespan.
• Firmware Updates: Check the abask official website periodically for any available firmware updates. Keeping the firmware updated can improve performance and add new features.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your abask A8pro Dash Cam, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

• Dash Cam does not power on:
  • Ensure the car charger is properly plugged into the cigarette lighter socket and the vehicle's ignition is on.
  • Check the car charger's fuse.
  • Try a different power source or USB cable to rule out cable/charger issues.
• Recording stops or freezes:
  • Format the Micro SD card regularly (at least once a month) to clear corrupted files and maintain performance.
  • Ensure you are using a high-speed (Class 10 or U3) Micro SD card from a reputable brand.
  • The card might be full of locked files. Delete unnecessary locked files or format the card.
• Poor video quality / Blurry images:
  • Clean the camera lenses with a soft, lint-free cloth.
  • Ensure the protective film has been removed from the lenses.
  • Check if the resolution settings are set to the highest available (4K for front, 1080P for interior/rear).
• G-Sensor is too sensitive/not sensitive enough:
  • Adjust the G-sensor sensitivity setting in the dash cam's menu. Lower sensitivity for fewer false triggers, higher for more detection.
• Wi-Fi connection issues:
  • Ensure the dash cam's Wi-Fi is enabled.
  • Restart both the dash cam and your smartphone.
  • Ensure your phone is close to the dash cam for a stable connection.
  • Temporarily disable mobile data on your phone while connecting to the dash cam's Wi-Fi.
• Parking monitor not working:
