Please read this manual thoroughly before operation to ensure safe and effective use of your surface cleaner.
2. Important Safety Information
WARNING: Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including eye protection, hearing protection, and protective footwear when operating a pressure washer and its accessories. Never direct the spray at people, pets, or electrical devices.
- Ensure your pressure washer meets the minimum and maximum PSI and GPM requirements for this surface cleaner.
- Always turn off the pressure washer and release residual pressure before connecting or disconnecting the surface cleaner.
- Do not use the surface cleaner on unstable or uneven surfaces.
- Keep children and bystanders away from the operating area.
- Inspect the surface cleaner for any damage before each use. Do not operate if damaged.
- Use only with cold water, not exceeding 140°F (60°C).
3. Setup and Connection
- Prepare Pressure Washer: Ensure your electric pressure washer is turned off and disconnected from the power source. Release any residual pressure in the system by squeezing the trigger on the spray gun.
- Connect Surface Cleaner: The RYOBI 12" Surface Cleaner features a 1/4 inch quick-connect plug. Pull back the collar on your pressure washer's spray gun wand and insert the surface cleaner's plug until it clicks securely into place. Release the collar to lock it.
- Verify Connection: Gently tug on the surface cleaner to ensure it is firmly attached and will not detach during operation.
- Water Supply: Connect your garden hose to the pressure washer's water inlet and turn on the water supply.
- Power On: Plug in your electric pressure washer and turn it on according to its instruction manual.

4. Operating Instructions
The RYOBI 12" Surface Cleaner is designed for efficient cleaning of large, flat surfaces such as driveways, patios, and decks.
- Start Cleaning: With the pressure washer running, hold the spray gun firmly and lower the surface cleaner onto the surface to be cleaned. Squeeze the trigger on the spray gun to begin water flow.
- Movement: Move the surface cleaner slowly and steadily over the surface in overlapping passes. The dual rotating jets will clean a 12-inch wide path. Avoid lifting the cleaner off the surface while the trigger is engaged, as this can cause uneven cleaning or damage.
- Edge Cleaning: For edges or corners, you may need to use the standard pressure washer nozzle or carefully maneuver the surface cleaner.
- Stopping Operation: To stop cleaning, release the trigger on the spray gun. If you need to pause for an extended period, turn off the pressure washer.
- Post-Cleaning: After cleaning, turn off the pressure washer, disconnect it from the power source, and release any residual pressure. Disconnect the surface cleaner from the wand.

5. Maintenance
- Nozzle Cleaning: Periodically inspect the nozzles for clogs. If a nozzle is clogged, use the included nozzle cleaning tool (if provided) or a small paperclip to clear any debris.
- Brush Skirt: Check the brush skirt around the perimeter of the cleaner for wear or damage. Replace if necessary to maintain splash protection.
- Storage: Store the surface cleaner in a dry, frost-free area when not in use.
- Lubrication: No lubrication is required for the rotating mechanism.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Uneven cleaning / Streaks | Moving too fast; clogged nozzle; insufficient pressure. | Move slower; clean nozzles; ensure pressure washer meets requirements. |
| Jets not rotating | Clogged nozzles; insufficient water pressure. | Clean nozzles; check pressure washer output. |
| Water leaking from connection | Loose connection; worn O-ring. | Ensure secure quick-connect; replace O-ring if damaged. |
