2. Setup Guide
2.1 Unboxing and Initial Connection
- Carefully remove the Twinkly Strings from their packaging.
- Uncoil the light string, ensuring there are no tangles.
- Connect the USB-C end of the light string to a compatible USB-C power adapter (not included). A standard USB-C wall charger or a power strip with a USB-C port is required.
- Plug the power adapter into a power outlet. The lights will illuminate in a default demo mode.

2.2 Twinkly App Installation and Pairing
The Twinkly app is essential for controlling and customizing your lights. Follow these steps for installation and pairing:
- Download the App: Download the "Twinkly" app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
- Connect to Twinkly Network (Initial Setup):
- Ensure your Twinkly Strings are powered on.
- On your smartphone, go to Wi-Fi settings and connect to the network named "Twinkly_xxxx" (where xxxx is a unique identifier).
- The default password for this network is "Twinkly2019".
- Launch Twinkly App: Open the Twinkly app. It should automatically detect your light string.
- Firmware Update: The app may prompt you to update the light string's firmware. Allow this process to complete.
- Set Custom Password: The app will ask you to set a new, personal password for your Twinkly device, replacing "Twinkly2019". Remember this password.
- Reconnect to Twinkly Network (with new password): After setting the new password, you may need to reconnect your phone to the "Twinkly_xxxx" network using your newly created password.
- Device Renaming: The app will then connect to your device and offer the option to rename it for easier identification.
- Mapping the Lights: The app will guide you through a mapping process, often involving taking a photo of your light setup with your smartphone camera. This helps the app understand the physical layout of the LEDs for precise effect application.

2.3 Connecting to Home Wi-Fi Network
For full functionality and smart home integration, connect your Twinkly Strings to your home Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz only):
- Open the Twinkly app.
- Navigate to the "Devices" section within the app.
- Select your Twinkly device and tap the settings icon (gear symbol).
- Choose "Network" and select your home Wi-Fi network from the list.
- Enter your home Wi-Fi password to connect.
Note: If you have multiple Twinkly devices, repeat the app installation and home Wi-Fi connection steps for each device. You can then group them within the app for synchronized effects.

3. Operation
3.1 App Control
The Twinkly app is your primary interface for controlling the light strings. It allows for extensive customization:
- Effect Gallery: Browse and apply pre-set effects from a vast library.
- Customization: Modify existing effects or create entirely new ones using the color palette and animation tools. You have access to over 16 million colors.
- Drawing Effects: Utilize the app's drawing feature to create unique patterns directly on the mapped layout of your lights.
- Brightness Control: Adjust the overall brightness of the lights.
- Timers: Set schedules for your lights to turn on/off automatically.

3.2 Voice Control Integration
Twinkly Strings can be integrated with smart home voice assistants for hands-free control:
- Amazon Alexa: Enable the Twinkly skill in the Alexa app and link your Twinkly account. You can then use commands like "Alexa, turn on Twinkly lights."
- Google Home: Link your Twinkly account through the Google Home app. Use commands such as "Hey Google, set Twinkly lights to blue."
Refer to the respective voice assistant's app for detailed instructions on linking third-party devices.

3.3 Music Synchronization (Optional Accessory)
For an immersive audio-visual experience, Twinkly Strings can synchronize with music. This feature requires the Twinkly Music accessory, sold separately.
- Connect the Twinkly Music device to a power source and pair it with your Twinkly app.
- The Twinkly Music device will analyze ambient sounds and music, translating them into dynamic light effects on your Twinkly Strings.

3.4 Gaming Integration
For gamers, Twinkly Strings can integrate with popular gaming ecosystems:
- Razer Chroma RGB: Connect your Twinkly lights to Razer Synapse for synchronized lighting effects that react to in-game events.
- OMEN Light Studio: Integrate with HP OMEN Light Studio for a cohesive lighting setup across your gaming peripherals and Twinkly lights.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
- Ensure the light string is unplugged from the power source before cleaning.
- Gently wipe the pearl-shaped LEDs and the wire with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth.
- Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or excessive moisture, as this can damage the lights or electronics.
4.2 Storage
- When not in use, carefully coil the light string to prevent tangling and damage to the wire or LEDs.
- Store the Twinkly Strings in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
4.3 Water Resistance
The Twinkly Strings USB-C Pearl-Shaped Light String is designed for indoor use only and is not water resistant. Avoid exposing the lights to water, rain, snow, or high humidity to prevent damage and ensure safe operation.
