2. Setup
2.1 Attaching the Antenna
Carefully screw the antenna clockwise into the connector on the top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.
2.2 Installing the Battery
Align the battery pack with the grooves on the back of the radio. Slide the battery upwards until it clicks into place. To remove, press the release latch and slide the battery downwards.
2.3 Charging the Radio
The UV-10R supports two charging methods:
- USB-C Direct Charging: Connect the provided Type-C USB cable to the USB-C port on the side of the radio and to a compatible USB power source (e.g., power bank, PC, car charger, laptop, or wall adapter).
- Charger Base: Place the radio into the charger base. Ensure the charging contacts on the radio align with those on the base. The indicator light on the charger will show the charging status.

3.1 Radio Components

- Power/Volume Knob: Rotate clockwise to power on and increase volume; counter-clockwise to decrease volume and power off.

To power on the radio, rotate the Power/Volume knob clockwise. Continue rotating to adjust the volume level. To power off, rotate the knob counter-clockwise until it clicks.
3.3 Channel Selection and Frequency Range
The UV-10R supports 999 channels. Use the keypad to enter desired channel numbers or navigate through channels using the up/down arrow buttons. The radio operates on dual bands with a frequency range of 144-148MHz and 420-450MHz.

3.4 Transmitting and Receiving
To transmit, press and hold the PTT button on the side of the radio and speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button to switch to receive mode.
