Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Ensure the radio is powered off.
  2. Align the battery pack with the grooves on the back of the radio.
  3. Slide the battery pack upwards until it clicks into place.
  4. To remove, press the battery release latch and slide the battery downwards.

2. Antenna Attachment

  1. Screw the antenna clockwise into the connector on the top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.

3. Charging the Battery

The UV-10R offers two charging methods:

  • USB-C Direct Charging: Connect the provided Type-C cable directly to the USB-C port on the side of the radio and to a compatible USB power source (e.g., power bank, PC, car charger, wall adapter).
  • Charger Base: Place the radio (with battery installed) into the charger base. Ensure the charging contacts align. The indicator light on the charger will show charging status.

4. Headset Connection

  1. Insert the 2-pin plug of the headset into the 2-pin K Jack on the side of the radio.

1. Power On/Off and Volume Adjustment

  • To power on, rotate the Power/Volume knob clockwise until you hear a click.
  • Continue rotating clockwise to increase volume; rotate counter-clockwise to decrease volume.
  • To power off, rotate the Power/Volume knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click.

2. Channel Selection and Frequency Range

The UV-10R supports 999 channels and operates within the frequency ranges of 144-148MHz and 420-450MHz.

  • Use the keypad to directly input frequencies or channel numbers.
  • Utilize the up/down arrow keys to navigate through channels or frequencies.

3. Push-to-Talk (PTT)
